Ok, I know I am going on about this but I have done this for 14 years in September, and at all my workshops I get parents thinking that they need to do a different veg, on its own, once a day.

Some parents think they have to do the same veg on 3 days before moving onto another veg!

This is very much outdated advice however the one veg a day theory is STILL being sold to parents in weaning books that are sold in their 1000's!

Please, don't waste your money following these "rules". They are not how babies eat or even want to eat!

I would love to hear if you thought this was how you were "supposed" to wean your baby and whether you did follow the 1 veg a day approach?

Here's how to get tonnes of veggies into your baby as they start weaning. I have cartots, broccoli, corn, green beans, onions and mushrooms cut up small for this omelette.

I used diced chorizo but I'd omit for young babies and replace with chicken, prawns or tofu!

Love how you are able to slice omelette into 'graspable' pieces for small hands!

Please don't think you need to start with 1 veg a day! It's not recommended by the NHS and the WHO so why are weaning books saying this is the way to go?

The NHS and WHO recommend:

1. Offering a wide variety of foods,
2. Including veg, fruit, starchy foods and protein rich foods.
3. Introducing common allergens from around 6 months
4. Progressing textures quickly

So don't bore your baby with bland veg, excite their taste buds from the start!

4 years ago we made the decision to move Jack and Francesca to St John's School in Billericay. At the time, we weren't sure if we were doing the right thing but within days, we knew it was right!

The school may not have all the bells and whistles of other independent schools but what it does have is the most incredible nurturing environment which has allowed our 2 to thrive and grow in a way we are still blown away by.

The friends they have made, and consequently friends I've made have changed our lives.

As Francesca moves into Seniors, it's the end of an era but the beginning of another and I can't wait to see how high they soar!
