Hi guys!
We’re super busy here at the moment and I’m working really, really hard to get everyone’s orders out as quickly as possible! I’ve got lots of messages to get through and I’m going to try and reply to as many as possible this evening.
The last of the school uniforms have gone out today so if you ordered school uniforms and you haven’t received them already, they should be with you in the next couple of days.
All teddies have also been sent out so if you’ve ordered a teddy they should also be with you very soon.
I’m trying to prioritise making orders over going through messages so if you’re waiting to make an order please bear with me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
I hope everyone is having a lovely summer! Here’s a picture of our neighbours chicken that made it’s way into our garden and hung out with us for a while 😅😅😅

8 years ago today, at 5 weeks old, 32 weeks gestation, 8 weeks before she was even due to be born, Norah had her first (of many!) brain surgery! I remember saying that I don’t know what makes someone one day say they want to be a paediatric neurosurgeon. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like digging around in a tiny 5lb baby’s brain, but I’m so glad that someone once thought “hey I’d love to do that” because they saved our baby’s life 😅 it only worked for 4 weeks before she needed her next one, but it meant that for those 4 weeks she got to be comfortable and it protected her little brain from any further damage. We were told that because of her chronic lung disease she’d probably come back from theatre ventilated, which felt like a huge step back. But not only did she come back on her usual amount of oxygen, she did so well that right after this picture they turned her oxygen off completely for the first time for 3 full hours! 🩷

A week into Stanley’s NICU journey, the couple in the bed opposite us said “you should try 5 weeks and counting”. I discreetly shook my head at my husband and said “leave it, it’s not a competition”.
They had no idea of our history or what we’d been through with our others. Let them have their moment because 5 weeks is HARD! Norah spent 15 weeks in NICU and I very vividly remember weeks 6-8 being the hardest weeks mentally. I remembered watching everyone around us coming into our room and then leaving 2-3 days later while we just seemed stuck in limbo. Part of the furniture. So close to the end of our journey but still nowhere near. But in that moment I suddenly realised that 15 weeks was nothing. I’d have done anything to do 15 weeks all over again, because our longest NICU journey wasn’t our hardest. Our shortest was 💔 It’s not a competition, and it’s certainly not a competition you want to win. Every second in NICU is soul destroying.
Norah 15 weeks in NICU
Stanley 14 days in NICU
Edward 7 days in NICU
Ivy 8.5 hours in NICU

Sometimes the NICU journey asks more of us than we ever thought we could give. 💔

You walk in every day with a smile, but inside you're scared, overwhelmed, and exhausted. And yet… you show up. You sit beside the incubator, whisper words of love, and hold onto hope tighter than ever before.

"You have to be the bravest you've ever been."
Not just for your baby—but for yourself too.

To every NICU parent out there: You are doing an amazing job. Your strength is seen. Your love is felt. And your bravery is unmatched. 💜

“Where’s the normal white kid”

I um’d and ah’d whether to post this, but I feel like it needs flagging.

I was scrolling through Facebook and came across this Sainsbury's Tu Clothing school uniform post. My first thoughts were how amazing to see a wheelchair user in the advert. I clicked on the comments and expected to see the same opinions as mine. I was hugely mistaken.
“Where’s the normal white kid”.
Now, there’s lots of things wrong with good old Richard’s comment, and many of the other comments on there too. But what a sad world we’re bringing our disabled daughter up in where a kid isn’t classed as “normal” because they’re using a wheelchair.
When 1 in 4 people in the UK have a disability, I don’t think it’s THAT far fetched to see a disabled child in an advert.
Have a day off Richard, your ableism is showing.
