Childhood vaccinations are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect babies and children from serious illnesses such as measles and whooping cough - and they're free as part of the NHS childhood vaccination schedule.

If you can’t remember if your child is up to date with their vaccinations, check their personal child health record (red book) and contact us to book an appointment with one of our practice nurses.

Get help fast this hay fever season 🌸🤧

Sneezing, sniffly, or itchy-eyed? It's likely you're suffering with hay fever, as pollen levels begin to increase. 🌿

Did you know that in most cases, the best hay fever treatments can be found at your local pharmacy? We do not routinely prescribe for hay fever. ❌

Pharmacies can offer a huge variety of over-the-counter treatments including antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops. Pharmacy staff can also give you some great advice on how to manage your symptoms.

It's Men's Health Week, and a good opportunity to highlight an NHS screening programme just for men.

When you turn 65, the NHS invites you for a simple scan to look for an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA). This is where the walls of the aorta weaken with age and swell up. It's much more common in men, and if you have one and it bursts, it is likely to be fatal. An AAA has no symptoms, so getting screened is the only way to find out if you have one.

If you're over 65 and never been screened, you can still make an appointment by calling Lancashire and South Cumbria AAA screening team on 0191 445 8747. Had your invite? Contact them now to get that important appointment booked!
