🌞 Blackpool Campus Fitness Fun! 🧩🔥

Leanne and Peter have been on the move this week at our Blackpool campus.
Leanne took to her movement harness and caused absolute mayhem in the best way - knocking over blocks, stretching out, and building those all‑important motor skills.

Meanwhile, Peter has been working hard on his own development and making the most of the little pockets of sunshine throughout the day.

Brilliant effort from both of them - we love seeing this energy and progress!

🌳🎉 Outdoor Adventure Crew Discovers Pokémon Go Trail at Sizergh!

What a day out for our Lancaster Outdoor Adventure Group this week at Sizergh Castle. They went for the scenery… and ended up discovering a full Pokémon Go trail winding through the grounds. Nothing like a bit of history, fresh air, and a surprise Pikachu encounter to keep things interesting.

Always on the look out for their next adventure!

MY FUTURE, MY WAY — Career & Future Opportunities Fair

Beaumont College South Lakes invited the community to a day built around possibility, ambition, and their next steps.

The fair took place at The Coro, Ulverston on Wednesday 10th June 2026, with an inclusive and inspiring event hosted by Beaumont College South Lakes.

‘My Future, My Way’ offered the opportunity to:
Meet local employers.
Chat with colleges and training providers.
Explore support services.
Discover new pathways for the future.

The event was well attended by partner organisations and was a valuable source of information, both for the visiting public and for service providers to network with each other.

Whether participants are planning their next move, exploring options (or supporting someone who is), this event was designed for them.

Let’s build futures together!

🌟 Skippool Success! 🌟

Students at our Skippool campus recently entered a Twinkl competition and won a £150 voucher to spend at a local garden centre. They have used the voucher to help improve their outdoor space and make it more sensory, calming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Here’s Holly getting stuck in and helping transform our garden area - great work!

Beaumont College Calvert Lakes Residential!

What an incredible time our Lancaster, Carlisle and South Lakes students had on their residential at the Calvert Trust!

They set off on Monday 18th May and quickly settled into their rooms near the pool before heading out for a walk and a delicious first meal (the puddings were a big hit… especially the sticky toffee pudding). The evening finished with archery led by Holly, followed by some downtime in the games room.

Tuesday took the group to Windermere for a trip on the Catamaran. Even with a bit of rain, spirits stayed high as students took turns steering the boat. After lunch on shore, they sailed back and rounded off the day with games in the sports hall.
On Wednesday the adventure level went up a notch with Ghyll Scrambling in the morning, then climbing and the big swing in the afternoon. Everyone showed amazing determination. The evening swim was well‑earned.

Thursday brought the High Ropes and the Zip Wire – a real challenge that every student rose to. In the afternoon they headed into the woods at Dodd for bushcraft, building shelters and toasting marshmallows around the fire. A perfect end to a brilliant week, topped off with certificates for all.

They returned home just in time for the end‑of‑term disco, tired but proud of everything they achieved. What a fantastic experience for our students.

Lakes Aquarium

Some of our Lancaster residential students have been making a splash recently as part of our 24‑hour curriculum!

A group from Beaumont College Lancaster headed out to Lakes Aquarium for an immersive, sensory‑rich learning experience - and they absolutely loved it.
From watching the mesmerising movements of the fish to exploring new environments and building confidence in the community, every moment supported engagement, communication and personal growth.

Experiences like this are what our 24‑hour curriculum is all about: learning that continues beyond the classroom, building real‑world skills in fun, meaningful ways.

Huge congratulations to Beaumont College South Lakes, along with our amazing students and their families, for completing the Coniston to Barrow Walk. The story has already gained both local and national press coverage, shining a well‑deserved spotlight on everyone involved.

A special moment captured in the lead photo features none other than Olympian Fatima Whitbread standing proudly with the group. A real achievement for everyone involved.

Beaumont College Lancaster Student Union welcomes Lizzi Collinge MP

This morning we were delighted to welcome Lizzi Collinge MP , the Labour Member of Parliament for Morecambe and Lunesdale, to campus as part of her ongoing community engagement with local organisations. Lizzi joined our Student Union group for an open and wide‑ranging discussion, spending an hour answering questions on everything from accessibility in the community, smoking legislation, and global conflict, to the lighter essentials like her favourite tipple and which football team she supports.

Our Student Union thoroughly enjoyed the visit and valued the chance to speak directly with a local MP about issues that matter to them. It was an engaging and insightful session that left our students feeling heard and empowered.
