Sometimes the body whispers before it shouts. A little note from me about rest, family and embracing the slower rhythm of summer.
Dear Beautiful Soul,
Over the past few weeks, I've been feeling overwhelmed.
Not just in my mind, but in my body too. That familiar feeling of burnout has been quietly whispering to me, asking me to slow down. Thank Goodness for my Love taking the reins of family life! Honouring the powerhouse that is my husband, Mark!
It's funny how often we ignore those whispers, convincing ourselves we can just keep going a little longer, pushing through one more task, one more email, one more thing on the list.
Until our bodies remind us that they have been speaking all along.
So today, this is your reminder, just as much as it is mine.
Rest is not something we have to earn. It is a necessity. It is part of the rhythm of being human.
The school holidays have firmly arrived, and every year I intentionally take a step back from my client diary. Not because I have to, but because my children are one of life's greatest gifts, and I want to experience these precious weeks with them fully. I want to offer them my presence, not just my availability.
These moments are fleeting, and I know I will never regret choosing memories over busyness.
Over the summer, I'll be condensing seeing clients to two days a week, allowing more space for family, slower mornings and making the most of the holidays. All classes, circles, workshops and events at Peace Heal Love Wellbeing Centre will continue as usual, so if you have something booked, there's no need to worry we are full steam ahead.
Next week, I'll be holding space at Wild Woman Refuge before heading onto the festival circuit throughout August. I'm looking forward to spending time outdoors, sleeping under canvas, gathering around campfires, dancing, laughing, and embracing the slower rhythm of festival life.
At Peace Heal Love Wellbeing Centre, authenticity has always been at the heart of everything I do. If I encourage you to listen to your body, honour your boundaries and prioritise your wellbeing, then I must be willing to do the same. One thing I believe deeply is that healers need healing too and I shouldn’t (and won’t) show up here unless I can walk the walk myself!
Perhaps this email is the permission slip you've been waiting for.
Take the afternoon off.
Watch your children play without reaching for your phone.
Sit beneath a tree.
Read a chapter of that book.
Walk barefoot across the grass.
Let the dishes wait.
Life isn't only found in the doing. So much of it lives in the quiet moments we often rush past.
Thank you, as always, for allowing me to walk alongside you on your journey. I'll still be around, just moving at a gentler pace, and I'll return in September with a full heart, fresh inspiration and, no doubt, a little festival magic still lingering in my soul.
Until then, take gentle care of yourself. Wild Love, B x
