⚠️ RED HEAT HEALTH ALERT – Please Take Care ⚠️
A Red Heat Health Alert has been issued, meaning there is a significant risk to health from the extreme temperatures, particularly for older people, young children, pregnant women, and those with long-term health conditions.
✅ Drink plenty of fluids regularly, even if you do not feel thirsty.
✅ Keep your home cool by closing curtains, blinds and windows during the hottest part of the day, and opening windows overnight when it is cooler.
✅ Avoid strenuous activity between 11am and 3pm where possible. Stay in the shade and wear loose, light-coloured clothing.
✅ Check on elderly relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be vulnerable.
✅ Look out for signs of heat exhaustion, including dizziness, headache, excessive sweating, weakness, nausea or confusion.
🚨 Call 999 immediately if someone becomes unconscious, has a very high temperature, stops sweating, or shows signs of heatstroke.
Stay safe, stay cool and keep hydrated. 💙
