You’ve already seen this corn once this week, but we thought it deserved another appearance, this time SUPER zoomed in.

Corns are concentrated areas of keratinised skin that develop in response to repeated pressure and friction. Unlike more generalised callus, that hard skin becomes focused into a smaller area, which is why even relatively small corns can cause discomfort.

This one wasn’t particularly deep, so careful reduction and knowing when to stop as we approached healthy tissue was important.

But enough talking...

Corn number two… we’re going in. 🌽👀

If you’ve been following this foot, we started by removing all that thick callus before discovering a couple of corns hiding underneath.

Yesterday was corn number one, and now it’s time for number two.

But once again, this is a great example of why corn removal isn’t about digging until you find a perfect little plug of skin.

Although this corn looks fairly substantial, it isn’t particularly deep.

As we carefully reduce the harder, more yellow keratin, we’re constantly assessing the tissue underneath and becoming increasingly cautious as we approach healthy skin.

There’s no dramatic core popping out.

There’s no enormous crater at the end.

And that’s absolutely fine. 😂

Good podiatry is knowing when to keep going… and, more importantly, when to stop. 👣💜

Satisfying callus or juicy corn… which one’s your favourite? 👀🌽

Yesterday we tackled all that thick callus, but some of you probably spotted a couple of suspicious areas hiding underneath.

Today, we’re going after corn number one.

And it was a pretty hefty one. 👀

But hefty doesn’t necessarily mean deep.

As we carefully reduced the concentrated keratin, we could see we were getting increasingly close to healthy tissue — which meant knowing when to stop was particularly important with this one.

As much as we love giving you a satisfying corn removal, we’re not going to keep cutting just to produce an impressive crater. 😂

So unfortunately, there’s no enormous hole at the end of this one.

Safe treatment > satisfying content. 👣💜

Callus for DAYS. 👀👣

Enjoy some satisfying skin shaving while we answer one of the questions we get ALL the time...

“How do you know when to stop?”

This video actually gives you a really good visual example.

At the beginning, you can see the thicker, more yellow appearance of the keratinised callus.

As we carefully reduce those layers, watch how the colour gradually changes. The skin becomes less yellow and begins to look more like the healthy surrounding tissue.

That visual change, alongside what we can see and feel clinically, helps guide how much callus we safely remove.

But we know some of you weren’t looking at the callus... 👀

Because if you’ve got eagle eyes, you might have already spotted those suspicious little areas underneath.

And yes...

They’re looking like they could be some VERY satisfying corns. 🌽😂

The irony of this ingrown toenail is actually quite impressive. 👀😂

This nail is onycholytic, meaning the nail plate has separated from the nail bed underneath.

Most of it is barely attached at all...

Except, of course, for the exact section that’s growing into the toe. 🙃

And this is actually a good example of something we see regularly in podiatry — patients don’t always arrive with one perfectly isolated problem.

Here, we’ve got an onycholytic nail AND an uncomfortable ingrown section to think about.

That’s why podiatry treatment needs to be tailored to the individual foot in front of us rather than taking the same approach with every patient.

In this case, we can carefully resect down the side of the nail and remove the troublesome spike to relieve that pressure.

Of all the nail that could have stayed attached...

Of course it chose that bit. 😂👣

Everyone remembers their first corn... right? 🥹🌽

One of our own team discovered they had their first EVER corn and, naturally, there was only one appropriate response...

Stop everything. Get the camera. This needs documenting. 😂

Now, we’re not going to pretend this is one of our greatest corn removals.

It’s tiny.

There’s no enormous core.

There’s no dramatic crater.

It might actually be one of the most pointless corn videos we’ve ever posted.

But even small corns are concentrated areas of hard skin that develop in response to pressure and friction — and they can still become uncomfortable.

So here it is.

Their first corn, officially removed. 🥹🌽

Absolutely not.

We rushed to grab the camera for this one...

And then it completely let us down. 😂🌽

This patient usually presents with an apical callus with a very satisfying corn hiding underneath it.

So naturally, we saw the toe and thought: CONTENT. 👀

Except this time...

There wasn’t a corn!

And while that makes for a slightly disappointing corn removal video, it’s actually a brilliant result for the patient.

They told us themselves that their feet have been getting better and better with regular podiatry treatment.

To the untrained eye, this toe might still look pretty uncomfortable but we know what it looked like when this patient first came to see us.

The difference is significant.

Regular podiatry care isn’t always about one dramatic before and after. Sometimes it’s about managing pressure, reducing recurring callus and corns, monitoring changes and seeing gradual improvements over time.

Bad day for our content.

A little look behind the scenes at our recent silicone workshop! 👣👐

We spent the session getting hands-on (and slightly messy 😂) making and perfecting silicone devices designed specifically for individual feet.

Silicone can be used in all sorts of clever ways in podiatry. Helping to cushion, protect, separate or offload areas that are getting a little too much pressure. And because we make them specifically for you, no two are quite the same!

Lots of squishing, moulding, experimenting and learning… basically arts and crafts, but make it podiatry. 😂🎨👣

But while it might not make particularly exciting viewing, even a small corn can cause a surprising amount of discomfort when you’re putting pressure through it every time you stand and walk.

So we carefully reduced the surrounding hard skin, removed the tiny central core and...
