Lisa uses the latest equipment to gent

ly irrigate your ears or the Endoscopic Camera to guide micro- suction. Both procedures are comfortable. You can see the video consultation and the before and after results for yourself. Lisa is very Covid secure and runs a lovely clinic that is cleaned and aired in between patients. A log cabin , purpose built and set in the entrance of 10 acres of beautiful countryside. All equipment is either disposed of if possible or disinfected in between patients. Lisa is fully vaccinated and tests at least twice a week. Lisa is well placed to advise on several ear conditions and when onward referral may be necessary. Lisa is safe , effective and recommended by many. See the outstanding reviews. Lisa welcomes people for free ear health checks with the camera and home visits also available on request. A reception team who are audiology trained are on hand to answer your calls quickly and to advise and book appointments as necessary. They are in direct contact with Lisa if need be but this allows Lisa to devote her time to treatment. Lisa prides herself on short wait times and a friendly local service and looks forward to meeting you.

The same lady one year apart ! One of the reasons that we keep photographic records of your ears.

Pic 1 - the TM is retracted and we referred her to the GP for review and for ENT referral. At the time she had some sinus congestion and ears felt blocked.

Seen today - She was referred to ENT but still has not been seen ( most referrals are taking about 18 months at this stage ) She has been to a high street brand for hearing tests as she is finding a reduction in her hearing as well as some pain. They refused the test as they said she had a perforation and needed to see her GP. She saw her GP who said everything was fine !😳 She then decided to come and see us and this was what we found ….

Pic 2 is today - and shows she has an auto- atticotomy( erosion of the scutum and adjacent bone ), with both attic and posterior- superior retraction revealing some of the middle ear structures.
It's hard to know if there is a perforation present as when the TM is retracted like this it can give a false appearance but it is possible.

Whereas in the former image the retractions looked clear of any keratin, in today's image there appears to be some wet squares of keratin in and around these retractions and a possibility of cholesteatoma.
There is also a hint of yellow behind the TM accompanied by her reports of pain so feel possible OME ( otitis media with effusion )

I have written to her GP again and asked for a review and ? treatment and asked that she be referred to ENT urgently now.

‼️Another reason to see a highly qualified wax removal specialist rather than one with 1 days training and no medical background. Be careful out there ‼️

I’m afraid we are fully booked this week. We have had clinics from 9am to 7 pm every day as well as being at the Framlingham show all weekend. That’s a lot of ears 🤣
We are now booking next Tuesday and Friday but appointments are going fast. I am away next week and the week after so Naomi is doing her best to see you all.
If your need is urgent then please make this known to reception. If you can wait a few more weeks then please do so . I will be back the week beginning 14th September. Naomi is also doing all the home visits and has some clinics in Aldeburgh Pharmacy.
