Jon is a keen photographer, often seen capturing special moments and beautiful scenes around our home. Yesterday, 19th August, was World Photography Day, and this year’s theme was: Home. ❤️

To celebrate in our home, we spent some time together looking back through photographs from days gone by, sharing memories and stories, and enjoying a wonderful trip down memory lane. A lovely way to celebrate photography, memories and most importantly, home. 🏡

💪🌸 Keeping Active at Hartfield House! 🌸💪

Here at Hartfield House Care Home, we all love finding fun ways to keep healthy, active and moving! Our wonderful residents have been enjoying a gentle exercise session using resistance bands, incorporating stretching, movement and simple exercises to help keep our bodies flexible and strong. 💪🎗️

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and a great sense of achievement as our residents worked at their own pace. ❤️

Keeping active is not just about exercise, it’s also about enjoying time together, boosting our mood and making sure we keep moving as much as we can. Well done to all of our amazing residents for taking part! 👏

🎶🌸 A Wonderful Doris Day Celebration at Hartfield House! 🌸🎶

Today we were wonderfully entertained by the fabulous Doris Day in our home! Our residents enjoyed a nostalgic trip down memory lane as we celebrated the life and music of this much-loved star. Through her songs, we reminisced about Doris Day’s colourful life and career, sharing memories, stories and plenty of smiles along the way. 🎤✨💕

There was lots of singing, laughter and toe-tapping as some of Doris’s best-loved songs filled the home. It was lovely to see our residents joining in, enjoying the music and sharing their own memories of days gone by.

It was so lovely to see Joan reunited with her son and his family this week. 🥰

She thoroughly enjoyed spending precious time with her family, who live on the other side of the world. Although the distance between them is great, they never forget her and always make sure she knows just how loved and cherished she is. 🌍❤️

Family visits like this are incredibly special, especially when loved ones have travelled such a long way to spend time together. It was wonderful to see the joy that their visit brought to Joan, and we hope they all enjoyed every moment of their time together. 💕

We feel very lucky that our area has not had to introduce a hosepipe ban, but that doesn’t mean we should take our water supply for granted. 🌿💦

Our residents have been doing a fantastic job of helping to conserve water wherever possible. We’ve installed a water butt to collect rainwater, which we can then use around the home and garden instead of relying on mains water. We’ve also been making a conscious effort to conserve as much water as we can in our day-to-day activities - from avoiding unnecessary water use to ensuring every drop is put to good use.

It’s wonderful to see everyone playing their part. Small changes may seem insignificant individually, but when we all work together, they can make a real difference. 💙

We were delighted to be entertained recently at to a show-stopping afternoon by the fabulous Strictly Entertainment Sadie during an “All Aboard” cruise-themed cabaret show.

With their passports ready and spirits high, residents were treated to a musical journey across the globe - from the vibrant streets of the USA to the sun-soaked shores of Copacabana. The incredible Sadie, dressed in dazzling costumes, brought each destination to life with her outstanding voice and familiar songs that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along.

The energy in the room was electric, and the joy on our residents’ faces said it all. It truly felt like we’d stepped aboard a glamorous cruise ship for one unforgettable afternoon of fun, music and laughter.

A huge thank you to Sadie and the team at Strictly Entertainment for creating such a special experience – we can’t wait to set sail again soon!
