When I first started my private practice, one of the biggest challenges was finding a counselling room that didn’t add even more pressure to an already stressful time.

Like many therapists starting out, I was trying to build a client base while managing the costs that come with running a business. The thought of committing to expensive room rental contracts before I had a full diary felt overwhelming.

I was fortunate enough to find therapy rooms available on an ad hoc basis, only paying for what I needed. It gave me the flexibility to grow at my own pace and made those early years so much more manageable.

Fast forward 6 years, and I’m now in a position to offer the same opportunity to other therapists through AC Therapy Rooms.

What gives a counsellor a buzz

Going through some old pictures and I came across these. I used to tell my story and do presentations. Motivational talks even though I hate that term as i think it's so cheesy and the odd one or two on resilience. I wasn't very good at it. I think it's because I never actually enjoyed it. At the time I didn't know exactly where I was going. It never gave me a buzz. I get some much more from when a person sat in front of me and even people that have gone on to other counsellors, have managed to turn their life around, realised who they are, learned to trust themselves. It's bloody amazing..!!

Anyway these pics are from a long time ago I'm a lot greyer now.
