Not all acne needs medical treatment, but certain cases do benefit from it.

🚨 Consider seeing a specialist if:
• Your acne is painful or cystic
• Over the counter products aren’t working
• You’re developing scars or dark marks
• It’s affecting your confidence

Early treatment can prevent permanent scarring and pigmentation.

Acne is often misunderstood — let’s break down some common myths:

❌ “Acne = poor hygiene”
✔️ Acne is influenced by hormones, genetics and inflammation, not just cleanliness

❌ “Only teenagers get acne”
✔️Acne can occur at any age, including during adulthood and later life stages

❌ “Sun exposure helps clear acne”
✔️ Sun may temporarily dry the skin, but it often worsens inflammation and pigmentation long-term

❌ “Just wash your face more”
✔️ Over-cleansing can damage the skin barrier and make acne worse

❌ “Acne will always go away on its own”
✔️ Untreated acne can persist and may lead to scarring

Understanding the facts is the first step to treating acne effectively!

June is Acne Awareness Month 💙

Acne is more than “just a few spots” — it’s a common skin condition that can affect confidence, self-esteem, and daily life at any age. Caused by clogged pores, excess oil, bacteria, hormones, genetics and other factors, acne is complex and deeply personal.

From blackheads and whiteheads to inflamed breakouts and scarring, every journey is different — and no one should feel ashamed of their skin. This month, let’s raise awareness, encourage understanding and remind everyone that acne is normal, valid and treatable ✨
