For over 10 years, this patient lived with a seborrhoeic keratosis on his scalp that gradually became larger and increasingly bothersome.

After laser treatment with Dr Andrew Smith, the lesion was removed with an excellent result. The area has healed well, with no visible scarring and normal hair regrowth.

Our patient came to us after a family member noticed a new lesion on their scalp. Although it wasn't causing any symptoms, it was important to have it assessed.

From diagnosis to healing:
Before treatment ➡️ Lesion successfully removed ➡️ 7-day wound check ➡️ 12-week result showing excellent healing.

The lesion was removed by Miss Stephanie Young, and the area was reconstructed using a skin graft taken from the neck.

The lesion was confirmed to be a basal cell carcinoma (BCC) – the most common type of skin cancer.

🚨 This case is a reminder to keep an eye on any new, changing or unusual skin lesions, especially in areas that are difficult to see yourself, such as the scalp. Sometimes, it's a friend or family member who notices something first.
