The greatest gift you can give your child is your healing 💙

Breaking intergenerational trauma doesn't mean becoming a perfect parent. It means becoming a more aware one. Some people may grow up in environments where emotions were dismissed, needs went unmet, conflict was avoided, or love felt conditional. These experiences can influence how we relate to ourselves and others as adults.

Healing allows us to pause before we repeat those patterns.
🔹️To respond instead of react.
🔹️To repair after difficult moments.
🔹️To create emotional safety.
🔹️To teach our children that all feelings are welcome.
🔹️To model self-compassion and healthy relationships.

Every time you choose connection over control, curiosity over criticism, and empathy over shame, you are changing your family's story. Breaking the cycle isn't about never getting it wrong. It's about being willing to learn, repair, and grow. Your children don't need a perfect parent. They need a parent who is committed to healing.

🔹️Postpartum Mental Health Matters🔹️

As a therapist, I've supported many women through the emotional transition into motherhood. As a mother of two, I have lived it too.

The postpartum period can be beautiful, but it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and incredibly challenging. You can deeply love your baby and still miss your old life. You can feel grateful and exhausted at the same time. Those emotions can coexist. It changes your identity, your relationships, your body, your routines, and your expectations. Adjusting to that takes time.

If you're finding yourself feeling anxious, tearful, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply not like yourself, please know this: you are not failing, and you are not alone.

Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness it is an act of strength. Whether that support comes from your partner, family, friends, or a mental health professional, you deserve to be cared for too.

To every mother reading this:
🤍 You are enough
🤍 You are doing enough
🤍 You deserve support just as much as everyone else.

If this post resonates with you, save it for a difficult day or share it with a mother who may need the reminder today.

Every war is a war against children.

The smallest hearts carry the heaviest burdens:
fear, loss, and trauma no child should ever know.
Their homes become battlegrounds, their sense of safety shattered, their development shaped by survival instead of security.

As a mother and a psychological professional, I cannot accept a world where innocence is the price of conflict. Trauma in early childhood does not end when the war does; it may live on in their nervous
systems, in their relationships, in the way they see the world and themselves.

This is not just a tragedy of war. It is the systematic destruction of childhood and a lifelong mental health crisis for all who suffer.

Children deserve safety, not sirens. Schools, not shelters. Love, not loss.

Stop the war. Protect their childhood.

Today, I was a guest expert on discussing social media and FOMO

FOMO is a form of social anxiety rooted in comparison, unmet emotional needs, and fear of exclusion. It’s driven by the need to belong and can trigger stress, low self-esteem, and compulsive behaviours, especially online
