A headline about a pill delaying menopause is not the same as an available treatment. Researchers are testing whether a low-dose medicine affects ovarian-ageing markers, but that does not yet prove menopause can be safely postponed by a set number of years. Do not self-source research medicines.

VAGINAL OESTROGEN: 8 THINGS TO KNOW

1. It is local HRT.
2. It is not the same exposure as systemic HRT.
3. GSM is more than dryness.
4. The bladder and urethra may be involved.
5. It can take up to three months to work fully.
6. It may reduce recurrent-UTI risk.
7. It does not treat an acute UTI.
8. Bleeding and persistent symptoms need assessment.

Women taking GLP-1 medicines for diabetes or weight management have reported changes in endometriosis pain and bloating. A new preprint survey makes that signal worth studying—but it does not prove these medicines treat endometriosis.

The most interesting result was that improvement did not clearly rise with weight lost. That could reflect biology, bias or other uncontrolled factors. The responsible next step is a trial, not off-label prescribing.

Va**nal oestrogen is local HRT—but it is not the same exposure as systemic HRT. It targets genitourinary tissues, and NICE supports its use for menopause-related symptoms, including alongside systemic treatment.

It may also help reduce recurrent UTI risk for some people during or after menopause. It does not treat an acute infection, and pain, bleeding or persistent urinary symptoms still need the right diagnosis.

L***a filler is often called “vaginal filler” — but the anatomy matters. Current evidence concerns hyaluronic acid placed in the external l***a majora. Recent studies are encouraging, yet they remain small and do not prove that filler treats every cause of dryness, pain or sexual difficulty.

The safest question is not simply “Is hyaluronic acid safe?” It is whether the right product is proposed for the right tissue, reason and patient, with a real complication plan.

No hot flushes? That does not make your menopause experience less real.

Bone. Muscle. Sleep. Brain. Heart. Va**na. Bladder. Hormonal change can be relevant across the body, but every system has a different evidence story. Bone loss and genitourinary tissue change are well established. Brain fog, joint pain and body-composition change are often multifactorial. HRT can treat symptoms and protect bone while used, but it is not prescribed to prevent dementia or heart disease.

Your period is often treated as a fertility question: are you late, could you be pregnant? But changes in timing, flow, pain and associated symptoms can sometimes tell clinicians much more.

One unusual cycle does not automatically mean disease. What matters is your usual pattern, what changed, how long it persisted and how it affects daily life. A period is a health signal—not a diagnostic test.

Menopause does not always arrive gradually. Surgery or some medical treatments can cause a rapid hormonal change, sometimes at a young age. Ask about symptom support, longer-term health considerations and which team will coordinate follow-up. Options depend on the treatment history and individual assessment.

Under-eye concerns are often grouped into one skincare routine, but dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and redness can have different contributors. Be cautious with product stacking around sensitive eye-area skin. Useful choices depend on the actual concern, your skin and realistic expectations.

Va**nal bleeding after 12 months without a period should be checked, even if it happens once or looks like light spotting. Contact your GP, record what happened and confirm the referral or follow-up plan. If bleeding becomes heavy, symptoms worsen or you feel acutely unwell, seek further advice.
