A huge congratulations to our Team of the Month – the Apprenticeships and Employability Team 👏

Although newly formed, this team has already had a fantastic impact, working together with passion and dedication to support apprentices across their entire journey. Their hard work shone through in the brilliant 2025/26 Apprenticeship Celebration and Awards Event, bringing over 90 people together to recognise achievements and the support behind them 🎉 From behind-the-scenes support to creating an inclusive and inspiring event, they’ve truly gone above and beyond to help colleagues grow in confidence and reach their goals.

To mark Clean Air Day 2026 we’ve signed up to the Vision Zero Pledge to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on roads in Leeds by 2040. We’re all road users – and our community staff clock up thousands of work miles each year visiting patients in or near their own homes.

Alongside Vision Zero, we’re sharing a new active travel map to encourage more sustainable travel across the city. On the map you’ll find where you can hire a bike, get maintenance from qualified mechanics, borrow tools or just get some cycling tips.

We’ve got some ideas about how services could change, but it’s really important we hear from people who’ve used them, as well as their carers too.

A brilliant day bringing our Estates and Facilities teams together to celebrate the people who keep our services running every day 🌟

This Estates and Facilities Day, it was fantastic to be joined by colleagues from across Leeds and our Mitie partners, highlighting the strength of our partnerships and the shared commitment we all bring to supporting patient care. A special thank you to our Leeds Community Healthcare colleagues for their thoughtful gifts for staff, a lovely gesture that was really appreciated.

From recognising award winners to spending time together as a team, the day was a great reminder of the dedication, teamwork and positivity across Estates and Facilities.

Congratulations to all of our award winners and thank you to everyone for everything you do 👏

Taking it to the bank . . . the positive feedback we received from our Bank Staff in the last staff survey has been recognised at national level – making our Trust one of the best in the country.

We have a roster of around 500 people who are available for flexible shift work - known as the Staff Bank. In a report published earlier this year, the Trust’s bank workers reported improved results across all seven elements of the NHS People Promise, as well as improved results for staff engagement and morale.

These results are potentially unprecedented across the NHS making LYPFT one of the best employers for bank workers. Whilst this was the third year that the NHS has run a national staff survey for Bank only workers, LYPFT has been running their own since 2019 putting the Trust well ahead of the curve.

🗣 Have your say on the name of our new organisation

We’re bringing together Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust - and we’d love your input on the name of the new organisation.

NHS England has given their approval for our Trusts to now develop and submit our full business case that sets out in more detail our plans to unite. We are aiming to go live with this from 1 April 2027 to form an integrated provider for all the health and care services currently provided by our two Trusts across Leeds and beyond.

You can take part in a quick online vote to choose your preferred name from a shortlist of four options that meet the national guidelines we’re required to follow.
