💦 Meet Dougie 🐾💙

Dougie first came to us for underwater treadmill sessions following a diagnosis of shoulder dysplasia. During his visits, his owner also mentioned she had concerns about a possible lameness in his left hind.

Watching Dougie move on the treadmill, we agreed that something just didn’t look quite right. After an assessment with the brilliant Nina's Veterinary Physiotherapy- Home visits for canine physiotherapy, his owner returned to the vets for further investigations. X-rays revealed bilateral hip dysplasia. 🩻

We definitely don’t have favourites… but if we did, Dougie would be right up there. He’s an absolute dude, and we adore having him at the centre. 🐶💦

Growing older doesn’t mean slowing down. 🐾 💨

Pool hydrotherapy is a wonderful way to keep senior dogs active, happy and moving comfortably. The warm water supports their body weight, reduces pressure on tired joints while allowing them to build strength, improve mobility and enjoy gentle exercise.

For many older dogs like Clyde, it’s not just therapy, it’s one of the highlights of their week. 💦

After arriving as a rescue, Mia found her forever home with her wonderful mum, Caroline. While her exact age is unknown, one thing is certain, she’s getting the very best.

Now Mia has lost her excess weight,
hydrotherapy helps to maintain her strength, mobility and overall wellbeing.

Tegan has recently started coming along for environmental sessions, as her owner wasn't actually sure if she could swim. So rather than jumping straight into it, we're taking things at Tegan's pace and helping her build confidence around the water first.

Every session has been focused around making the experience positive, allowing her to explore, learn and have fun with minimal pressure. Watching her confidence grow, even in these early stages, has been lovely to see.

Tegan isn't sure she likes this idea but well done little lady you're doing brilliantly ☺️

Please remember that we have a strict 5 MPH speed limit throughout the centre.

With dogs and livestock often moving freely around the site, driving slowly helps keep everyone safe; both two-legged and four-legged!
