I spent the day at Still I Play and honestly left feeling so inspired ✨

It was such an empowering event centred around art therapy, connection, wellbeing, and creating safe spaces for people to just be. I was there as a CBT therapist, having open and non-formal conversations with people about counselling, therapy, mental health, and the importance of feeling heard 🤍

What I loved most was how natural and genuine the conversations were — no pressure, no expectations, just people connecting, sharing, reflecting, and supporting one another through creativity and community.

A beautiful reminder that healing can happen in so many different ways, and that simply holding space for someone can be incredibly powerful.

So grateful to have been part of something so meaningful 💫

Chronic stress is strongly linked to the development and exacerbation of autoimmune diseases, with studies showing individuals with stress-related disorders (like PTSD) have a higher risk of developing autoimmune conditions. Chronic stress triggers immune system dysregulation, inflammation, and HPA axis malfunction, with up to 80% of patients reporting severe stress before disease onset.

Many men are socialized to suppress emotion, so unresolved childhood trauma may appear as anger, emotional numbness, difficulty expressing vulnerability, substance use, or workaholism instead of visible sadness or anxiety. High ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) scores in men are strongly linked to depression, heart disease, addiction, risky behaviors, and su***de risk.

Because boys are often taught to “be strong” or “not cry,” trauma can disconnect men from their emotional world, making it harder to form secure relationships, trust others, or regulate stress. The impact isn’t weakness — it’s a nervous system.
And just like with women, healing is possible when men are given safe spaces to process, feel, and rebuild emotional safety. 💚

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events that happen before age 18 — such as abuse, neglect, or growing up with household dysfunction — and research shows that higher ACE scores are strongly linked to increased risks of anxiety, depression, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders later in life.

For women specifically, childhood trauma can deeply shape emotional patterns, self-worth, and relationship dynamics. Studies, including the original ACE research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Kaiser Permanente, found that women with high ACE scores are more likely to experience chronic stress, hormonal imbalances, higher rates of PTSD, and reproductive health challenges in adulthood.

Trauma doesn’t just live in memories — it can affect the nervous system, stress response, and even how safe a woman feels in her own body. The hopeful part: with therapy, supportive relationships, and nervous system healing practices, the brain and body can begin to recover. 💚

Love is a verb because it has to be lived.
It’s not something you say once and keep forever—it’s something you choose, again and again.
Love shows up in listening, in patience, in staying when it’s easier to leave.
It’s in the small, quiet actions that say I see you, I’m here, I care.

“Us” doesn’t exist without the doing.
And the feeling everyone talks about—the warmth, the safety, the joy—that’s the fruit.
It grows only when love is practiced, watered by effort, and nurtured with intention.

"Why i started to use light therapy.
Even as a therapist I notice changes in my mood and feelings.
For me, In the morning I just was not feeling as on it ! Like I used to.
These are mood booster things I use myself and would recommend for anybody.
So let's go"

Key Benefits
1. Improves mood

Helps reduce symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) such as low mood, sadness, or hopelessness.

Can also help some people with non-seasonal depression.

2. Boosts energy and alertness

Exposure to bright light in the morning can reduce fatigue and daytime sleepiness.

Helps you feel more awake and focused.

3. Regulates sleep–wake cycle

Supports your circadian rhythm by signaling to your brain that it’s daytime.

Can make it easier to fall asleep at night and wake up in the morning.

4. Reduces “winter blues”

Even without full SAD, many people feel less motivated or sluggish in winter—light therapy can help counter this.

5. May improve concentration and productivity

Better mood and energy often lead to improved focus and mental clarity.

6. Non-drug treatment option

No medication involved, which is appealing for people who prefer or need non-pharmaceutical approaches.

⏱️ How it’s typically used

10,000 lux lamp

20–30 minutes each morning
