The Incredible Shirley Bassey Entertains Everyone

What a truly unforgettable afternoon it was as the incredible Shirley Bassey delighted everyone with a wonderful visit filled with music, laughter and happiness.

From the moment Shirley arrived, she brought warmth and excitement to the room. Residents, staff and guests were thrilled to spend time with such an iconic performer, creating an atmosphere full of joy and celebration.

Shirley entertained everyone with a fantastic performance, singing some of her much-loved songs and encouraging everyone to join in. Before long, people were singing, clapping, dancing and smiling from ear to ear. The room was filled with happiness as everyone enjoyed this very special occasion together.

It was more than just an afternoon of entertainment—it was an afternoon of treasured memories, friendship and kindness. Shirley's generosity in spending time with everyone made the day even more meaningful, and her visit will be remembered for years to come.

A Wonderful Afternoon to Remember

Everyone enjoyed a truly wonderful afternoon with the legendary Shirley Bassey. The room was filled with smiles, laughter and excitement as Shirley spent time with everyone, making the occasion one to remember.

The highlight of the afternoon was Shirley's fantastic performance. She had everyone singing along, clapping, dancing and enjoying every moment. Her incredible voice and warm personality brought so much happiness to everyone present.

Suzette was especially delighted to see Shirley again. Meeting her was a dream come true, and receiving Shirley's signature made the day even more special. The joy on Suzette's face said it all.

A Dream Come True for Suzette 💃💛

This afternoon was one that will never be forgotten as we welcomed the fabulous Shirley Bassey for a very special visit.

Suzette was absolutely overjoyed to see Shirley again and immediately remembered meeting her many years ago through friends at one of her concerts. The memories came flooding back, making the occasion even more meaningful.

With a huge smile, Suzette said, "You have made my day and my wish come true by coming to see me in my bedroom in Leicester." It was a touching moment that filled everyone with happiness.

Shirley spent time chatting with Suzette and kindly signed her autograph, creating another treasured memory for Suzette to keep forever.

As Shirley said goodbye, Suzette was already eagerly looking forward to seeing her again next time. It was a truly magical afternoon, filled with warmth, kindness, laughter and unforgettable memories that will be cherished by everyone who witnessed this special reunion.

This afternoon, Georgie hosted our wonderful Dementia Afternoon Café Tea at Alston House, and what a lovely afternoon it was! ☕️🧁

It was so special to welcome family members to join us, making the afternoon even more meaningful as everyone came together to share tea, cakes, laughter, and precious moments.

A very special congratulations to Neil , Christine's Son on your retirement. Everyone at Alston House would like to wish you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

The afternoon was filled with smiles as we enjoyed singing, dancing, and plenty of delicious cakes and tea. Seeing everyone laughing, joining in, and making happy memories together reminded us just how important these moments are.

As the evening drew to a close after our wonderful day in Stratford-upon-Avon, Janet's adorable fluffy teddy had already become part of the family.

Christine couldn't resist giving the little bear a cuddle. A Little Bear, A Big Memory🧸💜👑

Today we wandered through the beautiful streets of Stratford-upon-Avon, taking in the charm, history, and gentle atmosphere that makes the town so special. It was one of those days where there was no rush—just time to enjoy each other's company, explore, and create another precious memory together.

As we strolled past the little shops, Janet spotted the most adorable fluffy teddy bear. It wasn't just a teddy—it was the kind that makes you smile the moment you see it. Soft, cuddly, and impossible to leave behind, it quickly found a new home with us.

Now, every time we look at that little bear, it will remind us of this lovely day. It will bring back memories of walking hand in hand through Stratford-upon-Avon, sharing laughs, discovering hidden treasures, and simply enjoying being together.

Sometimes the smallest souvenirs become the most meaningful. They aren't valuable because of what they cost, but because of the memories they hold. What a wonderful day we had at Stratford-upon-Avon! 🌞🍦🦆

Today, Alston House enjoyed an outing with our lovely sister homes, West View and Magnolia Care Home , for a fantastic day out with our wonderful residents.

We enjoyed a relaxing picnic, treated ourselves to delicious ice creams, and spent time feeding the ducks while taking in the beautiful surroundings. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and happy memories made throughout the day.
And we also visited the Christmas shop 🎅

A huge thank you to our amazing driver, Vicky for getting us there safely and helping make the outing so enjoyable. We were also incredibly lucky with the beautiful weather, which made the day even more special.

Days like these remind us how important it is to create meaningful experiences, enjoy the fresh air, and spend quality time together. We can't wait for our next adventure! 💙🌼

Carol had a lovely time cuddling her soft penguin teddy today. She held it close, giving it lots of gentle cuddles and enjoying the comfort of having her favourite teddy by her side.🐧🧸

Carol also loved sitting with others and being part of the group. She seemed happy and content in the company of those around her, enjoying the shared time together. With her penguin teddy safely tucked in her arms, Carol had a lovely, cosy time surrounded by friendly faces.

It was wonderful to see Carol enjoying the simple pleasures of cuddles, companionship and spending time with others.
