⚠️ TOXIC CHEMICALS FOUND IN HAIR EXTENSIONS FOR BLACK WOMEN?

This caught my attention.
A segment on Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey is discussing concerns around potentially harmful chemicals being found in some hair extensions used by Black women.
And it raises a much bigger question:
Do we really know what is in the products we put on, and next to, our bodies?
Hair extensions can remain in close contact with the scalp, face and neck for long periods. Yet how many of us know what synthetic fibres have been manufactured with, treated with or coated in before they reach us?
For me, this isn't about creating fear. It's about transparency and informed choice.
If a product contains substances that may affect our health, consumers have a right to know. And when products are disproportionately marketed towards Black women, we should be asking whether enough research, testing and regulation is taking place.
🌿 Natural health isn't only about what we eat. It is also about questioning what we put on our skin, our hair and into our everyday environment.
I’m going to be looking into this subject more deeply.
Do you wear synthetic braiding hair, wigs or extensions? And have you ever considered what chemicals might be used in their manufacture?
👇🏾 I’d really like to hear your thoughts.
