π Support Worker / Supported Living Carer Required in Leicesterπ
We're looking for a compassionate, reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our team and provide person-centred support for a wonderful Service User living in the community.
This is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, supporting independence, and helping someone live life to the fullest.
About the Service User
Our Service User enjoys spending time with people who are calm, positive, reassuring and have a good sense of humour. Building a genuine connection is extremely important, so we're looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and easy to talk to.
They enjoy:

π¬ Cinema trips (including free carer tickets at the cinema and Curve)
π€ Musical bingo
π₯ Spending time with friends
π Community outings and day trips
This is a sociable individual who enjoys getting out and about, meeting people and having fun with carers who are happy to engage and communicate.
We're Looking for Someone Who Is:
β Calm, patient and reassuring
β Friendly, bubbly and easy-going
β Reliable and punctual
β Observant with excellent attention to detail
β Able to build trust and positive relationships
β A non-smoker
β A confident communicator with clear spoken English
Experience
The ideal applicant will have:
β’ Experience supporting adults with additional needs or within supported living.
β’ Experience supporting individuals who require supervision.
β’ A healthcare or care background (desirable).
β’ A mature and professional approach.
Driving Requirements
A full UK driving licence is essential.
The role involves driving to locations such as:
π Birmingham
π Nottingham
π Milton Keynes
π De Montfort University (DMU) Theatre
Communication
The Service User communicates in a variety of ways, including gestures and eye pointing.
Successful applicants should be patient, attentive and willing to encourage communication by following their lead and using prompts such as:
"Can you show me again?"
Routine & Environment
Routine and consistency are very important.
The Service User prefers:
β’ A calm, structured approach.
β’ Plenty of time without feeling rushed.
β’ A quiet and relaxed home environment.
β’ Carers who remain patient and reassuring.
Although they enjoy lively environments when out socialising, home should remain peaceful and free from unnecessary noise.
Please note there will be a dog in the property.
Health & Wellbeing
The Service User is vulnerable to illness.
If you are unwell, particularly with a cold or similar illness, you must not attend your shift. Reliability and consideration for the Service User's health are essential.
Meals
Support workers should bring their own lunch.
Please note:
β’ There are no facilities available to heat food.
β’ Meals should be quiet to eat, avoiding foods that create unnecessary noise.
Induction & Training
A comprehensive "Working with Me" booklet will be provided, explaining routines, communication, preferences, and important guidance to help you provide the best possible support.
Shift Information
π Regular shifts:
10:00 am β 4:00 pm
