Cancer treatment can trigger menopause:
⚡ With little warning
⏱️ Sometimes without perimenopause
🔄 Often permanent
Yet less than half of women knew this was even a possibility.

We recently asked women experiencing cancer induced menopause what it's like to look for information on this. Too many said it took a lot of digging, they weren't sure they could trust it, or that they couldn't find anything useful.

That's what we're helping to change with the Meno.pause app:

💙 Creating Prostate Cancer Champions in Our Communities 💙

This , we're proud to share our work with LLRICBCancer and Prostate Cancer UK to deliver life-changing training that empowers local community leaders to become Prostate Cancer Champions 👏

The interactive sessions provided champions with the knowledge, skills and confidence to start potentially life-saving conversations about:
✅ Prostate cancer signs and symptoms
✅ PSA testing and eligibility
✅ Speaking openly with GPs about concerns
✅ What happens before, during and after testing
✅ Sources of support from Prostate Cancer UK and Prostaid

Led by GP Dr Annette Durant, the training created a safe and supportive environment where honest conversations could take place and myths could be challenged. 💬

📚 Champions also received toolkits, awareness materials and resources to help them continue raising awareness within their communities.

🌟 The impact so far is amazing:
👥 11 new Prostate Cancer Champions trained
🏘️ 5 community organisations represented
📢 Potential reach of more than 25,000 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

By empowering trusted community leaders, we're helping to reduce stigma, tackle health inequalities and encourage earlier diagnosis through open conversations. We're delighted to be funding an expansion of the project in 2026/27 as part of our ongoing commitment to improving prostate cancer outcomes.
