๐ŸŒž Have your say on new sunbed safety rules! ๐ŸŒž
The government has launched a 12-week consultation to strengthen regulations around commercial sunbeds and better protect children and young people.

Proposals include:
๐Ÿ”’ Mandatory ID checks
๐Ÿšซ Banning unsupervised โ€˜tap and tanโ€™ systems
โš ๏ธ Clearer health warnings
โŒ Cracking down on misleading claims (like sunbeds helping with weight loss or preventing sunburn!)

New rules could be introduced as early as 2027. The consultation closes on 14 August.

๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ† Exciting news! ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŒŸ
Weโ€™re delighted that a project we have supported, the Sleep and Cancer project, has been shortlisted for the Ingrid Fuchs Cancer Nursing Award at the 2026 The Nursing Times Awards ๐ŸŽ‰

This achievement highlights the power of co-production, with people living with cancer shaping the work from the very beginning. Their experiences of disrupted sleep helped guide a more compassionate and practical approach ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Through collaboration with the Lincolnshire Cancer Co-production Group, patients, clinicians and partners worked together to design accessible, empathetic support, including sharing real experiences to ensure the content truly reflects peopleโ€™s needs โค๏ธ

This shortlisting celebrates whatโ€™s possible when we listen, learn and design services with people, not just for them.

A huge thank you to The Sleep Charity, the co-production group, and all the brilliant CNSs, nurses, AHPs and colleagues involved ๐Ÿ‘
