It was a wonderful opportunity to get out into the local community, enjoy a chat, and share some delicious treats together.

One of our lovely clients enjoying a trip to the local McDonald's as part of their companionship visit today.

Before anyone asks, the second McFlurry wasn't for her, our Care Professional wasn't going to miss out either!

Getting out into the community, visiting favourite places, and sharing simple moments like these is what companionship care is all about.

At the rate we're bringing clients in for their favourite treats, we're starting to think the local McDonald's owes us a loyalty card or maybe even a sponsorship deal!

Staying hydrated in hot weather is especially important for older people.

As we age, our bodies can find it harder to regulate temperature, and some people may not feel thirsty even when they need fluids. This can increase the risk of dehydration, dizziness, confusion, tiredness and falls.

During warmer weather, small steps can make a big difference. Keeping a drink nearby, encouraging regular sips throughout the day, choosing water-rich foods, wearing light clothing and avoiding the strongest sun can all help older loved ones stay safe and well.

It is also important to check in on older relatives, friends and neighbours, particularly those living alone or with health conditions.

Susan supported Mavis on a lovely outing where she met up with three ladies she used to work with at Woolworths. It was a special opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and enjoy time with familiar faces.

Moments like this show that care is not just about practical support it is about independence, companionship, and helping people continue doing the things that bring them joy.

A lovely trip out to Pennington Flash 🌿☕

One of our wonderful Care Pros recently supported Freda with a visit to Pennington Flash to enjoy the beautiful views, fresh air, and a relaxing stop at the café.

Getting out and about can make such a difference, whether it’s taking in the scenery, sharing a cuppa, or simply enjoying a change of surroundings.

It’s often the little things that show the biggest heart.

Kacey is so loved by this family that they joked, “If we could adopt her, we would!”

Not only does she bring kindness, care and warmth into their home, but her attention to detail clearly doesn’t go unnoticed. They even take photos of the bed after Kacey has made it, just so they can show their friends how beautifully she does it!

Moments like this remind us that care is about so much more than tasks. It’s about trust, pride, connection and making someone feel truly looked after.

Kacey, thank you for the love and dedication you bring every day. You are clearly very special to this family, and we are so lucky to have you. 💚

The team look after my dad weekly, he is happy and settled in his own home and the girls are very good with him, this gives me great sense of comfort to know he is looked after so well.
