Cycle to Work Day is a nationwide celebration of commuting by bicycle – promoting health, sustainability, and eco-conscious travel. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a curious beginner, the day offers a perfect opportunity to embrace active transport and enjoy the benefits of riding to work. Supported by cycling organizations, employers, and local councils, this annual initiative helps reduce carbon emissions, relieve public transport congestion, and support mental and physical wellbeing.

☀️ HOT WEATHER AND APPOINTMENTS ☀️
We understand the extreme heat may cause people to feel unable to leave home. We fully advocate vulnerable patients staying indoors unless trips out are absolutely necessary. However, we have seen a large increase in patients failing to attend their appointments this week, without cancelling beforehand. By 10.30am today, we have already lost 50 minutes of GP time and 30 minutes nurses time. This could have been used for other patients had they have been cancelled. If we can politely ask you contact us to cancel any appointments no longer required.

Learning Disability Week takes place Monday 15 to Sunday 21 June 2026.

The theme for 2026 is "Do you see me?" which is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued.
