The weather is set to rise as the week goes on, we are reminding our patients to be careful in the heat.

A heatwave can affect anyone, but some people are more vulnerable, including:

🧡 older people, especially those aged 65 and over
babies and young children aged 5 years and under or people who have serious long-term conditions 🧡

The main risks posed by a heatwave are:

💦 not drinking enough water (dehydration)
🥵 overheating, which can make symptoms worse for people who already have problems with their heart or breathing
☀️ heat exhaustion and heatstroke
