One of the biggest myths in health and longevity is that you have to be perfect.

Perfect diet.
Perfect sleep.
Perfect supplements.
Perfect exercise routine.

The reality?

I still enjoy the occasional beer.

I still stay up late.

I still make poor food choices from time to time.

The difference is that these are the exception, not the rule.

Most of the time I prioritise:
✔ Sleep
✔ Exercise
✔ Good nutrition
✔ Hydration
✔ Recovery

Longevity isn’t about being perfect for 30 days.

It’s about being consistent for 30 years.

And that’s a much more sustainable way to live.

What’s one healthy habit you’ve managed to stay consistent with?

A trip down to London today to deliver my Complications Masterclass.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and to .uk for hosting us.

Complications management is one of the most important — yet often under-taught — areas in aesthetics. Being a good injector isn’t just about technique. It’s about recognising complications early, knowing how to manage them safely, and having the confidence to act when things don’t go to plan.

Through , my aim is to raise standards, improve practitioner confidence, and share the knowledge I’ve gained through both medicine and aesthetics.

I hope everyone left feeling more prepared to recognise, prevent, and manage complications in clinical practice.

Education doesn’t stop when your foundation course ends.

It’s a lifelong commitment to better patient care.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion after a recent podcast clip where I spoke about early perimenopause, hormones, and lifestyle interventions.

Some people agreed.
Some didn’t.

But I stand by what I said.

Hormones can be life-changing. I prescribe them myself and have seen the huge positive impact they can have on women’s lives.

However… good medicine should never be reduced to “symptom = prescription.”

A clinician who ignores women and refuses treatment when it’s genuinely needed is dangerous.

But equally, a clinician who jumps straight to medication without looking at sleep, stress, nutrition, exercise, metabolic health, alcohol intake, muscle mass, or lifestyle foundations can also be doing patients a disservice.

Medicine is nuanced.
Healthcare is individual.

And women deserve more than extremes from either side.

I always explain it like building a house…

There’s little point decorating the house if the foundations underneath are unstable.

Hormones can be an incredible tool.
But foundations still matter.

This isn’t anti-HRT.
It’s pro holistic, evidence-based, individualised care.

And honestly, social media has made these conversations far too black and white.

You’re either labelled “anti-hormone” for mentioning lifestyle… or “reckless” for prescribing them.

The reality?
The best clinicians usually sit somewhere in the middle.

People often ask why I still work in the NHS.

The answer is simple.

It keeps me grounded in real medicine.

It sharpens judgement.

It reinforces standards that carry into everything I do — including aesthetics and longevity medicine.

When you’re making decisions that truly matter, there’s no room for shortcuts.

That experience doesn’t switch off when I leave the hospital.

And everything I do outside of it is better because of it.

Joking aside…

Fuel’s gone up quickly — and we all accept it.

But when it comes to aesthetics, people still shop around for the cheapest option.

Price matters.

But safety, expertise, and long-term outcomes matter more.

Back at the Welsh Aesthetics Symposium for the second year.

After such a great event last year, I was proud to be invited back to speak to a room filled with practitioners from all different backgrounds who really care about our industry and their patients — the talk focussed on complications in aesthetics, how to recognise them early, and how to manage them safely.

Open discussion, real-world experience, and education like this are essential for raising standards and improving patient safety across our industry.

Always good to connect with like-minded practitioners committed to doing things properly.

Great to meet everyone! Keep in touch! And looking forward to seeing you all again next time.

Complications are an inevitable part of aesthetics — but confidence comes from knowing how to recognise and manage them properly.

I’ll be speaking at the Welsh Aesthetics Symposium on Saturday 28th March, focusing on common complications in aesthetic practice, early recognition, and practical management strategies.

We’ll also be joined by a real-life case study guest, sharing her experience and answering questions — offering valuable insight from the patient perspective.

Education, preparation, and open discussion are key to raising standards and improving patient safety across the industry.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Cold plunges are excellent.
There’s good evidence for benefits including resilience, metabolic health and recovery.
But health optimisation isn’t about blindly following trends.

It’s about understanding your body, your stress levels and your current physiology.

Last week I was exhausted — busy clinics, meetings, hospital on-calls, late nights and early mornings.
My body was already under pressure.

So I didn’t cold plunge.
Instead I prioritised recovery with red light therapy and sauna sessions.

Cold exposure, intermittent fasting and other “biohacks” are forms of hormetic stress.

When used at the right time they can be powerful.
But when your system is already fatigued, adding more stress can push you backwards rather than forwards.
Longevity isn’t about doing everything.

It’s about doing the right thing at the right time.

Vitamin D is often thought of as a “bone health vitamin”.
But research from the VITAL trial suggests it may also influence biological ageing.

In a sub-study examining telomere length — protective caps on DNA that shorten with age — participants taking 2,000 IU of vitamin D daily experienced significantly less telomere shortening over four years, equivalent to roughly three fewer years of biological ageing.

While longevity is always multifactorial, maintaining optimal vitamin D levels is one of the simplest and most evidence-supported interventions.

In my practice, I often recommend Hinnao Vitamin D + K2 as part of a broader longevity strategy — supporting metabolic, cardiovascular and cellular health.

Longevity isn’t about quick fixes.
It’s about biology, consistency, and the fundamentals done well.

LongevHA has been recognised as a finalist in the Innovative New Product category at this year’s Aesthetics Awards — and having used it extensively in my clinic, that recognition is well deserved.

What I value most is that the science stands up.
It’s designed to support collagen production, improve skin quality, and work with the skin’s natural regenerative processes.

That’s why it has become a foundation of my regenerative skin programmes.

When skin health improves, everything else we do performs better — from microneedling and peels to injectables.

Regenerative aesthetics isn’t about quick fixes.
It’s about creating the biological environment for skin to behave better, age better, and respond better to treatment.
