🍎 From our Tree to our Tea! 🍏

Our residents enjoyed apples from our very own apple tree before getting together to make a delicious homemade apple crumble for tea. 🥧💕

A huge thank you to our wonderful Sally for peeling the apples and supporting everyone to get involved. It was fantastic to see our residents touch, feel and smell the apples and the crumble and take part in every stage of making the crumble. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

From picking the apples to enjoying the finished crumble, it was a truly sensory, meaningful and delicious activity.😋🍎We always make more crumble than needed so that everyone can join in!

🐾This National Dog Day, we’re celebrating our four-legged friends and supporting a wonderful local cause. 🐾

We’re collecting dog food donations for National Animal Welfare Trust Bedfordshire, our local dog charity, with a shop in Leighton Buzzard and a rehoming centre in Milton Keynes. 🐕

Our residents love sharing happy memories of their much-loved pets, who hold such a special place in their hearts. ❤️

Did you know that stroking a dog can help lower blood pressure? It’s no surprise, then, that our residents love giving dogs all the love and cuddles they can! 😄

To celebrate National Dog Day, we’ll also be welcoming some well-behaved, lovable doggies for a special visit - wagging tails and cuddles! 🫂

If you’d like to help, please bring in any dog food donations by 31st August, and we’ll make sure they’re passed on to the charity to help support dogs in need.
Every donation, big or small, can make a difference. ❤️

In July at Elm Lodge, we took time to recognise the Tour de France 🚴‍♂️

We had some lovely discussions about the race, including the significance of the yellow jersey worn by the race leader 💛 Residents and staff also shared memories of holidays in France, as well as favourite foods and experiences 🍽️😊

To help bring the theme to life, our manager Francesca introduced an exercise bike 🚲 This gave staff a great opportunity to think about their own health and wellbeing, while also adding a fun and interactive element to the day 💪

A simple but meaningful way to encourage conversation, reminiscence, and wellbeing for everyone involved.

🐱🎉 Happy National Cat Day from everyone at Elm Lodge! 🎉🐱

Paws what you're doing... it's time to celebrate our fabulous feline friends! 😺

Today, our residents will be spending time with our robo cats, who are always ready for a cuddle and plenty of purrs! 🐾💛 They bring smiles, stimulate conversations, and help create special moments throughout the day.

We'll also be sharing favourite cat stories and celebrating all the furry companions, including our dog friends, who have left paw prints on our hearts. ❤️

Many of our residents have fond memories of beloved cats who were companions, mischievous kittens, or the kings and queens of the comfiest chair -often the one you want to sit on! 🐈👑🛋️

🎉🎂 Celebrating 90 Wonderful Years! 🎉🎂

A very special happy 90th birthday to our lovely resident, Guiseppina! ❤️

To celebrate this incredible milestone, Guiseppina’s wonderful family kindly treated our residents and staff to a delicious afternoon tea complete with chocolates, sweet treats, and plenty of surprises. 🎂☕✨

The thoughtful gesture was enjoyed by everyone and helped make the day extra special. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

It was a beautiful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, treasured memories, and wonderful stories. A truly heartwarming celebration for a remarkable lady.

Adriana truly goes above and beyond every single day. Not only is she an excellent carer ❤️, but she has also used her fantastic painting and decorating skills 🎨🖌️ to help transform and improve our home, making it an even brighter and more welcoming place for our residents. 🏡✨ A massive congratulations to our amazing Adriana, who was awarded Employee of the Month for June! 🌟👏💙

But Adriana didn't stop there! 🙌 Last weekend, she wanted to proudly represent Team Elm by wearing one of our branded tops while attending the iconic Silverstone Circuit 🏎️🏁 – home of the British F1 Grand Prix! 🇬🇧🏆Seeing our logo being worn with such pride at such a prestigious location made us feel incredibly honoured. 💙

Thank you, Adriana, for your dedication, kindness, hard work, and team spirit. We are so lucky to have you as part of Team Elm! 💙🌟

This fantastic achievement reflects the dedication, compassion, teamwork and unwavering commitment of our incredible team. Every member of staff has played a part in making Elm Lodge a place where quality care comes first.

A special congratulations to our Manager, Francesca, whose leadership and support helped guide the team to this result. We couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together.

Thank you to the wonderful Women's Institute for the delicious tea party! ❤️

🏆We should always be proud of who we are and the women's institute helps women around the globe embrace their identity of being a woman.
🗣️They strive for giving woman a voice and connecting them around the globe.

🍰So to help us reconnect we treated ourselves to an afternoon full of snacks, tea and lovely company, and also because who doesn't love an afternoon tea?!
