Full Moons ahead 🌝
Mark your calendars, moon lovers! 🌕✨
Nature is preparing for an incredible lunar sequence! Over the next two months, we are witnessing a rare celestial rhythm that you won't want to miss. Here is everything you need to know about our upcoming night sky highlights:
🌸 MAY 1: THE FLOWER MOON
Named by many indigenous cultures, including the Algonquin tribes, the "Flower Moon" marks the time when spring is in its full glory and flowers begin to carpet the landscape. It represents fertility, growth, and the awakening of the Earth after a long winter. It’s the perfect night to celebrate new beginnings!
💎 MAY 31: THE RARE BLUE MOON
This is a special one! Because May 2026 starts with a full moon, it also ends with one. In modern astronomy, the second full moon in a single calendar month is known as a Blue Moon. While it won't actually look blue, its rarity makes it a "once in a blue moon" event you must see. Double the moons in one month means double the lunar energy!
🍓 JUNE 30: THE STRAWBERRY MOON
As we transition into the heat of summer, June brings the sweet Strawberry Moon. This name originated from Native American tribes who used this full moon as a signal to gather ripening wild strawberries. In Europe, it was historically known as the "Honey Moon" or "Mead Moon," often linked to the peak of the harvest season.
✨ Photography Tips:
Golden Hour: The best time for "big moon" photos is during moonrise or moonset when it's near the horizon.
Stability: Use a tripod to avoid blur during long exposures.
Check the Weather: Clear skies are key!
