Baking bread at home is not that hard, it has fewer preservatives, salt, sugar, etc, you have more control over the type of flour and you can add many flavors.
For example, in the recipe below, you can change the fennel seeds to caraway seeds or walnuts.

A homemade wholemeal fennel bread!
The recipe :
A wonderful 100% whole flour fennel bread (large one or 2 medium)
Ingredients:
500 gr of whole flour
1 Tbs of dry yeast or 1/2 cube of fresh yeast
2 Tbs of sugar
1 egg L size (or 60 gr of apple puree without added sugar for vegans) or 20 ml water.
225 ml of water
60 ml of canola/olive oil/ mix of vegan oil and truffle oil. 40ml/20ml.
6 gr of salt
25 gr Fennel seeds/ Carraway seeds.
For brushing before baking: 5 ml milk/ non-dairy milk
* If you do not have a mixer, follow the preparation instructions as usual. You can knead the ingredients in a large bowl.
1. Activate the yeast: Put the yeast in a small bowl with lukewarm water add 2 tablespoons of sugar stir and wait at least 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl put the flour, fennel seeds mother
3. Add the activated yeast, egg (or apple paste for a vegan version) and add the water gradually
4. Operate on medium speed with a kneading hook. Add about a minute until the ingredients are slightly combined.
4. Add canola oil and salt. Turn the mixer back on and process the dough at medium-high speed for about 6-7 minutes until the dough is sticky but pleasant.
5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a little low to rise in a warm place until the dough doubles in volume. 1-2 hours
6. Shape the dough in a bread tin or as a round bread
7. Spread the bread with the milk / non-dairy milk
8. Operate the oven on medium-high heat (190 degrees) and in the meantime allow the bread to rise for another 30 minutes.
9. Place a tray with ice/water cubes at the bottom of the oven to create steam while baking
10. Bake it for 20 minutes, until the bottom has started to turn golden brown and if it sticks to the bottom it sounds hollow.
