☀️ Summer at Cheadle Care ☀️

We’ve certainly been making the most of the summer so far!

From days out, cycling and exploring local places, to gardening, creative activities, events and trying something new, there has been plenty going on.

For us, good support is about much more than filling a day. It’s about helping people do the things they enjoy, make choices, build confidence, develop skills and stay connected with their local community.

Sometimes that means getting out and having an adventure. Sometimes it’s learning or practising a skill. And sometimes it’s simply spending time with people and having a good laugh.

A fantastic day at Colour Fest, organised by ECHO. 🌈 🫟🎨

We enjoyed taking part in the colour walk.

We are also pleased to support ECHO by attending events like this and helping people to be active, included, and involved in their local community.

The people we support have been busy enjoying a wide range of activities including woodworking, furniture restoration, cooking, community trips, fairground rides, museum visits, animal experiences, outdoor skills, and group projects. It has been great to see confidence, independence, communication, and practical skills continue to grow through activities that people genuinely enjoy.💙

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Dean Beadle for an in house talk with our staff team.

Dean is a UK-based autistic speaker, journalist, and performer with over 20 years of experience delivering talks around the world. He shared his lived experience, along with practical insight. The session gave us the chance to reflect on our own practice and think about how we can keep improving the support we provide.

It was an engaging and thoughtful session, and we are grateful to Dean for taking the time to work with our team. Thank you as well to our staff for taking part and getting involved.
