Almost all fears we have in life are learned fears. That is, responses to lived experiences, usually from childhood, that trigger repeat patterns of avoidance, neglect, panic, phobia and emotional distress.
The good news is that, since they are learned, they can also be unlearned: removed from how you currently experience life.
Fear makes us human, that's true, but when it stands in our way to fully express ourselves, it becomes limiting.
The anticipation of it, the expectation of how it will impact us, the freeze response: these are the things that actually cause the fear, not the thing itself.
What do you think? Can you recognise when you fear something and when you fear the fear of something?
