I am often singing the praises of Magnesium supplements. Did you know that approximately 80% of Americans are deficient in Magnesium. This is very important as Magnesium is involved in over 300 processes in our bodies. Some of the most important are heartbeat regulation, blood pressure regulation and cellular energy production. If you have irregular heartbeats or generally feel lacking in energy then you could probably benefit from a Magnesium supplement. But which one? This article from Dr. Josh Axe explains 15 of them and their uses. Some specialise in lowering blood pressure, others help to keep your digestive tract working regularly, if you know what I mean. I take Magnesium Citrate to avoid muscle cramps in the night. It's a small price to pay for the knowledge that you won't wake in the night in agony with cramp. It's not easy to measure your level of Magnesium so I would always suggest trying a couple of them and seeing if your condition improves. The only real side effect I know about is the possibility of having to rush to the toilet if you take a little bit too much Magnesium Oxide. On the other hand that might be exactly what you need. 🙂

While magnesium is one of the most important minerals for the body, it’s vital to understand that not all types of magnesium are the same.

Happy New Year. I wonder how many of my readers are considering a New Year diet? Here's a good video from Dr. Jockers. He explains so much about sugar that many people don't realise. The damage it causes in our bodies is invisible but it doesn't take too long before we start to see the signs. Weight gain is probably the first clue. Elevated blood glucose will eventually lead to Type 2 diabetes. That can cause lots of problems in our eyes, our kidneys, our livers and even make our feet go numb. Eventually it can destroy brain cells leading to dementia. All this for what benefit? A quick sugar rush? Is it really worth it. Take a look at the video and see where your diet should start. Good luck.

Back on the subject of Diabetes again. This post from Natural News explains how reversing prediabetes can reduce the risk of suffering heart disease by 50%. Exercising and losing weight play their part in making you healthier and less likely to progress to Type 2 but for the full protection it is important to introduce dietary and lifestyle changes that will reverse your diagnosis of prediabetes and return your blood glucose levels to normal. There are many books on the subject of reversing diabetes but if you want some personalised advice you can contact me through this page. Good luck and have a Merry Xmas. 🙂🎄

Normalizing blood glucose levels reduces fatal heart disease and hospitalization risk by over 50%, far more effective than merely delaying diabetes onset. While weight loss and exercise reduce diabetes progression by 58%, this new study shows they do not significantly lower cardiovascular risk unles...
