A new patient was explaining his medical history in which quite recently he had experienced severe leg pain. Various treatments had been tried, but the symptoms weren’t improving 🤔
Following further investigations, the underlying cause was found to be prostate cancer.
With the recent news surrounding Jeremy Clarkson’s prostate cancer diagnosis, it’s a timely reminder that health conditions don’t always present as we might expect.
As podiatrists, we assess much more than just feet 👣. Sometimes the most important thing we do is recognise when further investigation is needed and help patients access the right care 🤝
💜Not every symptom points to the obvious diagnosis. Sometimes, thinking outside the box can make all the difference, and this is such an interesting example
The message is: Always get things checked when something just doesn’t add up ⬆️
