👋 Hi, I am Ruth. Founder and owner/director of Dermatherapy School of Beauty Ltd

I have been a Beauty Therapist for around 30 years 👵 and lucky enough to teach for over 22 years . Firstly in FE and now with my own regulated Beauty School and clinic where I still offer services as well as Beauty education level 2 to 5 through VTCT and Focus Awards ( both Ofqual)

We are based in Horwich, Bolton and are proud ( and thankful) to have a comfortable, welcoming environment with a lovely regular clientele of learners, models and clients.

I am lucky also to be involved behind the scenes for quality and standards with Beauty regulations by being an international examiner for CIBTAC and an EQA for C & G as well as scrutineering exams before they are released for learners on regulated Beauty quals such as NVQs

This is really important to me especially seeing the sad demise of the industry and term 'beauty therapy' and lack of regulations currently in advanced services ( anyone going into Aesthetics with no pre quals)

For me, .......bring back the term Beauty Therapist , with the standards, professionalism and expertise that was always so well respected in the past

I cant change things, but what we can offer is quality, regulated only pathways and a safe, legal regulated career path through Beauty therapy and beyond.

🤍 Card of the Day 🤍

The High Priestess • Eight of Swords • The Sun

The High Priestess reminds us that life is about balance.

She sits calmly between the black and white pillars — light and shadow, the known and the unknown. Behind her, the veil reminds us that there will always be things we cannot yet see and answers we do not yet have.

But look at her.

She isn’t pulling at the veil trying to see what’s behind it.

She is still.

The High Priestess represents our higher self — the part of us that trusts our intuition, listens to our inner knowing and understands that we don’t need to have every answer in order to feel safe.

Then we meet the Eight of Swords.

Our ego has entered the room.

She feels trapped. Her eyes are covered and the swords around her appear to leave nowhere to go. But look a little closer.

Her blindfold is loose. Her feet are free. The swords haven’t formed a cage at all.

She can leave whenever she chooses.

This is what happens when the voice of fear becomes louder than the voice of our inner Priestess. We overthink. We overfeel. We imagine every possible outcome until eventually we can no longer see the path that was there all along.

And perhaps that is why The Sun comes next.

The Sun doesn’t ask us to work everything out.

It simply shines.

It reminds us that darkness isn’t something we have to fight our way out of. Sometimes we just have to stop covering our own eyes.

There will always be things we don’t know. There will always be moments when life asks us to walk forward without being able to see the whole path.

That is where trust comes in.

Let your inner knowing be louder than your ego.

Take off the blindfold. Stop demanding answers from what is still behind the veil.

The Sun is always shining. Sometimes we just have to let ourselves see it. ☀️🤍
