☀️ Hot Weather Notice 🐾
With the temperatures continuing to be so high, the comfort and wellbeing of your dogs comes first.
If you would prefer to postpone your appointment during the hot weather, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll be happy to rearrange for a cooler day.
Thank you for your understanding, and please keep your dogs cool and safe in the heat this weekend💙🐾
Watch out for these warning signs:
🐶 Excessive panting or struggling to breathe
👅 Bright red gums or tongue
💧 Drooling more than usual
😴 Weakness, wobbliness, or lethargy
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhoea
⚠️ Collapse or unresponsiveness
If you think your dog is overheating:
✅ Move them somewhere cool and shaded immediately
✅ Offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water
✅ Use cool wet towels on their belly, paws, and underarms
✅ Contact your vet straight away
🚫 Avoid ice baths or covering the whole body with ice-cold water, as this can make things worse.
Prevention is always best:
🌿 Walk early morning or later in the evening
💦 Keep fresh water available at all times
🏠 Provide shade and cool resting areas
🚗 Never leave dogs in a parked car—even for a few minutes
🔥 Remember: pavements can burn paws too
Some dogs are at higher risk, especially brachycephalic breeds (like bulldogs and pugs), older dogs, puppies, overweight dogs, and dogs with underlying health conditions.
