Making a claim for compensation? Your mental wellbeing matters too.

There are many different types of compensation claims people pursue, from car finance and housing disrepair to accidents at work, cycling accidents, hearing loss, industrial disease and road traffic accidents, to name just a few.

Access to justice is important. But however a claim is being pursued or funded, the process itself can sometimes feel stressful.

There may be unfamiliar terminology, uncertainty about what happens next, periods of waiting or difficult circumstances to revisit along the way.

If you are feeling anxious, worried or stressed, have you spoken to your representative to ask what support may be available during the process?

Asking questions, understanding what happens next and knowing what support is available can help you better understand the process and manage some of the uncertainty surrounding it.

Seeking compensation and looking after your mental wellbeing don’t have to be separate conversations.

COLLABORATION CREATES OPPORTUNITY.

Yesterday gave us the opportunity to spend time with the team at Claim.co.uk discussing two areas we are incredibly excited about.

How AI can help charities create better systems, improve accessibility and deliver more free resources to the people and organisations that need them.

And how our growing mental health support services can work alongside the legal sector, ensuring clients can access appropriate support when they need it most.

Two very different conversations, but with one thing in common: using collaboration to make services more accessible, efficient and focused on people.

And perhaps the start of an exciting new collaboration too…

As a mental health charity, we believe support must be at the heart of redress.

We are offering confidential counselling and mental health support for people who are considering engaging with the Church of England Redress Scheme.

As we have seen with clients engaging with the Redress Scotland scheme, seeking redress can mean revisiting deeply difficult and painful experiences from the past. Having the right support in place can make an important difference as people navigate that process.

For solicitors, charities and organisations supporting people through the redress process, we can help ensure that confidential, appropriate support is available for those who need it most.

With the scheme approaching, we encourage organisations supporting applicants to consider support and counselling as part of the wider journey.

If you are a solicitor or charity supporting people through the scheme, please reach out to us. We would be very happy to discuss how we can work alongside you to ensure the right support is in place.
