You eat pretty well… so why don't you feel better?

This is something I hear all the time.

You're eating plenty of healthy foods, you've cut back on the obvious things, perhaps you've even tried a few supplements – but you're still bloated, tired, struggling with your weight or simply not feeling as good as you think you should.

Sometimes we need to stop adding more things and go back to the foundations.

That's exactly what my 28 Day Transformation Programme is designed to do.
For 28 days, I give you the structure to take away some of the foods that can be problematic, concentrate on nourishing your body with plenty of delicious real food, support your gut and then, importantly, reintroduce foods afterwards.

Because this isn't about giving up everything forever. It's about giving yourself the opportunity to notice how it feels to be balanced – and learning what works for your body.

You get recipes, meal plans, education and support, plus two 30-minute one-to-one consultations with me, so you're not trying to work it all out by yourself.

And because the programme is now available all year round, you can start whenever you're ready.

If you're reading this thinking "this sounds like me", drop me a message. Let's have a chat about whether it's the right place for you to start.

Better digestion? More energy? Improved sleep? Feeling more comfortable in your clothes?

How about all of them?

My 28 Day Transformation Programme has been evolving for more than five years, and it's designed to give your body a proper reset while helping you understand how the food you eat affects how you feel.

It's not about being perfect forever. It's 28 days of structure, education, delicious food and support, followed by reintroduction so you can start to understand what works for your body.

And the best bit? You don't need to wait for the next group to start anymore. The programme is now available to begin whenever you're ready.

If you've been wondering whether 28 days really could make a difference, drop me a message and let's have a chat. 🩷

Easy Sumac Cabbage Pickle

I’m loving this hot weather, but sometimes a meal needs a little “extra” some sharpness, some crunch. This Sumac Red Cabbage Pickle is perfect.

Quick, ridiculously simple, and landing in the Recipe Vault in the Members Hub next week.

🟣 Red cabbage - rich in vitamin C, vitamin K and anthocyanins (the pigments behind that gorgeous colour), which act as antioxidants in the body.
🍋 Sumac - a tangy, lemony spice with its own antioxidant punch, a staple across Middle Eastern cooking for adding brightness to a dish.

And then there’s the pickle itself. The vinegar helps stimulate the release of digestive enzymes, supporting digestion - plus, honestly, it just tastes incredible.

✔️ Recipe landing in the HillStart Members Hub next week.

If you’d like access to recipes like this, along with everything else inside the Members Hub, the link is in my bio.

When I recorded my very first podcast back in 2019, I hadn't qualified as a Nutritional Therapist, Covid didn't exist, I lived in a different house... and I was still colouring my hair dark brown! 😄

A lot has changed over the last seven years.

I've worked with hundreds of clients, written a bestselling book, built a membership, launched programmes and continued learning every single day.

But perhaps the biggest surprise is this...
The more experience I've gained, the simpler my advice has become.

Healthy eating isn't about chasing the latest trend or spending hundreds of pounds on supplements.

It's about getting the foundations right first.
Eating real food.
Getting enough fibre.
Prioritising sleep.
Moving your body.
Finding the root cause when something isn't right.

And recognising that your version of wellness doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

Episode 300 is a little different from my usual podcasts. It's a reflection on everything I've learned over the last seven years, what has changed, what hasn't, and where HillStart is heading next.

Whether you've listened to one episode or all 300, thank you for being part of this journey. It really does mean the world. 💗

A survey of more than 560 women found that 94% of women in perimenopause reported digestive symptoms. For many women, bloating, constipation, wind and digestive discomfort become part of everyday life during the menopause transition. We often assume it's "just hormones", but emerging research suggests that changes in the gut microbiome may also contribute to the symptoms many women experience.

In clinic, it's incredibly common for women to tell me that their digestion changed around the time they entered perimenopause.
For years, we've focused almost exclusively on hormones. It's exciting to see research beginning to explore the important role our gut may also play.

That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about gut health.

It's also why gut health sits at the heart of both Nourish to Flourish and my 28 Day Transformation Programme. The aim isn't simply to improve digestion; it's to nourish the body with real food, support the gut microbiome and give your body the nutrients it needs to function at its best.

We're still learning about the fascinating relationship between the gut microbiome and menopause, but I think this is an area we'll be hearing much more about over the next few years.

I've added a link to the study in the comments if you'd like to read more.

Feeling tired isn't something you should just put up with.

One of the most common things I'm seeing when reviewing clients' blood test results is low vitamin D.

It's incredibly common and, in many cases, relatively straightforward to address. Yet low vitamin D can affect your immune system, muscle function and your body's ability to absorb calcium, which is essential for maintaining healthy bones.

That's one of the reasons I created the HillStart Annual Health MOT.

It combines the comprehensive YorkTest Annual Health Test with something I believe is just as important: a 30-minute one-to-one consultation with me.

Anyone can order a blood test online.

But understanding what those results actually mean for you, and knowing what to do next, is where the real value lies.

Together, we'll review your results, identify any areas that need attention and create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan that's practical, achievable and tailored to your health.

After all, there's very little point in having a report full of numbers if you're left wondering what they actually mean.

If you'd like a clearer picture of your health, I'd be delighted to help. Drop me a message and let's have a chat.

P.S. One final thing... you don't have to wait until January! Your HillStart Annual Health MOT can be done at any time of the year, making it a great way to check in on your health whenever you need it.

Your skin is talking. Are you listening?

We often think about what we're putting on our skin, but perhaps we should spend a little more time thinking about what we're putting in our body.

Your gut health has a direct influence on your skin, so while you can spend a fortune on fancy creams and serums, if you're not looking after your gut, you may not be getting the results you're hoping for.

Everything you eat influences your health, and your skin is often one of the places where that story is written.

🩷🩷 Food for thought...

If you could improve just **ONE** thing about your health over the next 28 days...

What would it be?
💜 More energy?
💜 Better sleep?
💜 Less bloating?
💜 Fewer cravings?
💜 Weight loss?
💜 More confidence around food?

One of the biggest things I've learned over the past five years is that people rarely come to me because they want to "eat healthier."

They want to wake up feeling refreshed.
To stop relying on coffee to get through the afternoon.
To feel comfortable in their clothes again.
To enjoy meals without wondering if they're helping or harming their health.

Food is simply the tool that helps us get there.

That's exactly why I wrote Nourish to Flourish. Not as another diet, but as a practical 28-day programme that helps you build healthier habits, understand how your body responds to food, and discover that eating well doesn't have to be complicated.

So tell me...
If you could change just one thing about your health over the next month, what would it be?

Five years ago, I launched my first 28 Day Transformation Programme.

Later that same year, in September 2019, I nervously sat down to record the very first episode of the podcast.

Who knew what would come from those two decisions?

Since then, I've supported well over 100 people through the programme, recorded almost 300 podcast episodes, refined my approach year after year, and listened carefully to what worked (and what didn't!).

Those five years of learning are now all in one place. Nourish to Flourish the book https://nourishtoflourishbook.co.uk/

This week's podcast is the final episode in my book series, where I explain exactly how the programme works, why it isn't just another diet, and what you can realistically expect if you give your body 28 days of proper nourishment.

If you've been wondering whether the book is for you, this is the episode I'd recommend listening to.

A huge thank you to everyone who has bought the book, left a review, shared a post, listened to the podcast, or simply cheered me on over the past few weeks. Your support has meant more than you know.

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to for continuing to sponsor the Fab Female Nutrition Podcast. I've used their supplements for years, genuinely recommend them to my clients, and I'm so grateful for their continued support. If you'd like to try them for yourself, you can use my code WENDY15 for 15% off.

Episode 299 is out now - search wherever you get your podcasts

P.S. Next week is Episode 300! 🎉. To celebrate, I'm doing something a little different. Instead of talking about nutrition, I'm going to share my story - how I went from working in the family builders' merchants to becoming a nutritional therapist, why I started HillStart, what I've learned over the past decade, and what's next for the podcast and the business.

I'd love you to join me.
