💔 Farewell to a true legend — Dolly Parton 💔

Today, the world says goodbye to a woman who brought so much joy, kindness and music into our lives.

Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that reaches far beyond her music. From Jolene and 9 to 5 to I Will Always Love You, her songs became part of the soundtrack to generations of lives. But perhaps even more special was the warmth, generosity and compassion she showed to others.

As funeral directors, we understand that when someone dies, we often remember them through the things that made them special — their voice, their smile, their words, and the memories their life leaves behind.

For millions around the world, Dolly will forever be remembered for her unmistakable voice, her sparkling personality and, above all, her huge heart.

☀️ Funerals in Extreme Heat ☀️

The heat this week has been intense, and attending a funeral in these temperatures can take a real toll on the body especially when emotions are already running high.
If you’re attending a service, a burial, or spending time at a wake outdoors, please take a moment to look after yourselves.

Here are a few gentle reminders:

• Stay hydrated 💧 Bring water with you, even if it feels awkward. Grief is exhausting, heat is exhausting, and the combination can creep up quickly.

• Dress for comfort 👗 Light, breathable fabrics are absolutely acceptable. Respect doesn’t come from overheating.

• Seek shade 🌳 At gravesides or outdoor gatherings, don’t hesitate to step back into shade if you need to.

• Take breaks ☺️ If you feel faint, overwhelmed, or too hot, step away and take a moment.

• Look out for one another 🥰 Check in on older relatives, children, and anyone who looks like they’re struggling.

Funerals are emotionally heavy days, and extreme heat adds another layer that no one should ignore.

Today, we acknowledge that for many, Father’s Day can be a poignant reminder of a much-missed father or father figure.

Whether this is your first Father’s Day without them, or one of many over the years, we recognise that the day can bring a mixture of emotions — reflection, sadness, but also love and gratitude for the memories shared.

At times like these, it can be comforting to pause and remember the life they lived, the guidance they gave, and the lasting impact they have had. Though they may no longer be with us, their presence continues through the values they instilled and the memories held close.

Today, we encourage you to honour them in your own way — by sharing stories, revisiting cherished moments, or simply taking a quiet moment of reflection.

At the family’s request, she was taken on her final journey in a Harley-Davidson motorbike hearse — a meaningful and personal tribute that beautifully reflected her spirit 🏍️✨
