Protected Learning Time

In order to be able to continue to provide a safe and effecive service we need time to conduct essential staff training and updates.
Lincolnshire GP Practices are permitted to close on one afternoon per month in order to be able to deliver this valuable training.

Next Closure for Training

Richmond Medical Centre will next be closed for Protected Learning Time on: Thursday 20th August 2026 between 1300-1830.

If health advice is needed when we are closed, please use either the NHS Website or if needed call NHS 111.

**Internet issues 11 August 2026**
We are experiencing significant interruptions to our internet today, 11th August 2026.

This is currently only affecting the Moor Lane site, but does mean there will be some delay in answering telephone calls, actioning call backs and consulting with patients. We have reported this and it is being investigated by our IT provider.

We thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we work hard to rectify this issue and will update this page and our social media when we have further information.

Telephone Line Issues

We are currently experiencing issues with our phone system, and some calls may not go through or may be delayed.

Sadly patients are very quick to criticise GP Practices when there is a shortage of appointments even though patient demand is not something we can control.

However, appointment availability is also determined by how responsibly patients use our services.

In May 2026 we had a total of 352 wasted appointments. Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend.

Good Friday and Easter Monday reminder.

The practice will be closed over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, including Good Friday and Easter Monday.

To make sure you don't run out of your regular medication whilst we are closed, please ensure you order your prescriptions in advance.

⚠️ Update on MenB Vaccination

The meningitis B (MenB) vaccine was added to the routine childhood immunisation schedule from 1st September 2015, in line with UK Government and NHS immunisation guidelines.

Children born before this date will not have received the MenB vaccine as part of their routine vaccinations.

According to current NHS and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) guidance, there are no changes to the national immunisation schedule. If this guidance is updated, eligible patients will be contacted directly.

At this time, we are unable to offer the MenB vaccine to individuals who are not eligible under the current national immunisation programme, as per NHS and Government policy.
