🎉 SHE DID IT! It’s official… Emily is a qualified Dispensing Optician! 🎉

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to Emily, who has successfully completed her BSc (Hons) degree and passed her professional exams to become a fully qualified Dispensing Optician.

Over the past two years, Emily has worked incredibly hard, balancing studying, exams and practical experience alongside her work with us. Her dedication, determination and commitment have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud of her.

It takes a lot of hard work to reach this point, and Emily has shown just how much can be achieved with passion, perseverance and a willingness to learn.

We’ve loved watching her grow in confidence and knowledge over the last two years, and we’re incredibly excited to see what the future holds for her.

🍰The Great BURGHARDT Bake Off 2026🧁

What a fantastic day! We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, donated and supported us. Thank you all so much!

We’re especially proud of our wonderful team, who gave up their time to bake such delicious cakes and help make the day the success it was……..And CONGRATULATIONS to Cheryl our very deserving STAR BAKER for her incredible carrot cake! 🥕

Together we raised an amazing £671.85 for such a great cause - BUDDIES DEMENTIA CAFE💙

Our team will be swapping their uniforms for aprons as they compete in The Great Burghardt Bake Off, raising money for Buddies Dementia Café. 💙

We’d love for you to join us for coffee, cake and a little friendly competition! Enjoy a slice of homemade cake, cast your vote for your favourite bake and help us support this wonderful cause.

☕ Suggested donation: £5 per person (cash donations only). Every penny raised will go directly to Buddies Dementia Café.

If you’re unable to join us but would still like to support Buddies Dementia Café, you’re very welcome to pop a donation into the practice.

Is your child MYOPIC?

Myopia (short-sightedness) means distant objects appear blurry while close-up vision remains clear. It happens when the eye grows slightly too long, causing light to focus in front of the retina.

Risk factors include: less time outdoors, prolonged screen/near work, and having one or both parents with myopia.

👁️Signs to look out for: squinting, sitting close to the TV, difficulty seeing the board, headaches or tired eyes.

Early detection and myopia management with specially designed spectacle lenses, contact lenses or medication can help slow progression. Higher levels of myopia can increase the risk of serious eye conditions later in life.

⚠️EARLY DETECTION MATTERS. Regular eye examinations can help protect your child’s long-term eye health.
