Just for anyone who hasn’t yet come to see me to learn all of this in a safe and empathic environment, you can save yourself the time and expenditure!!

My task as a therapist is to make my self obsolete, to help you to become your own safe base, and for the route to that state to be as clear to you as possible such that you no longer need me. It’s a sh*te business model 😜
but that’s why I love it, because to be a good therapist it’s about the work not the money!

I had an enquiry through the website and I thought, come on Ange, you aren’t really marketing this amazing class, pull your finger out and bring this wonderful class to more people.

So here is my reply coupled with my pinned post where you get to read what my clients have to say!

Two of my clients are in their 8th!! Year of attending every week and many more have also been with me for a number of years.

It’s an awesome group and an excellent class and you really need to consider joining us….this is why….

So, we meet every Monday at 1830, I only run one class these days as my therpay business takes a lot of my time.

The class is for all levels and you don’t have to have any prior knowledge.

It’s a pay monthly set up of £45 per month paid in advance. Pilates only really proves beneficial with dedication and comittment and this helps, particularly on those days when you don’t feel like going but you go because it’s paid for! You always feel better after.

It’s a lovely group, it’s as much a safe and social place as it is a healthy habit.

We work on building awareness and use of the muscles that support our spine, we will always try to incorporate spinal flexion, extension, rotation and lateral flexion but we also look to use body weight exercises and stretches for lower and upper body too.

I also encourage (using an initial 7 week ‘homework tasks’ set up) how to bring the Pilates principles (precision, control, breathing, centering, concentration and flow) into every day life with a focus on how to mobilise the limbs whilst stabilising the centre/spine whilst targeting a lot of the deep muscles that don’t get utilised regularly.

What this does over time is improves posture and spinal flexibility whilst improving strength and control which safeguards the spine immeasurably.

It normally takes 6-12 weeks before you really notice a difference but when you do it can be quite remarkable.

These last two weeks we have had a house guest and on Friday I allowed him to take part in the therapy dog role with Porter.

Dexter performed well and made my teenage client exceptionally happy so a job well done all round, before settling down for yet more sleep!!

This is something that comes up in conversation all the time in sessions here.

Acceptance of one’s self goes hand in hand with the letting go, stopping negative self talk, kindness and compassion to the person in the mirror and all the younger versions of us that had no choice in developing the neural pathways and ways of being we have developed.

It’s not your fault. We are all a product of our experience much of which we had little control over.
