Whilst we’ve had a little break for half term, we’ve been looking back at some lovely moments from recent Nature Ed Forest School sessions 💚

From whittling sticks and roasting marshmallows over the fire, to nature walks, bug hunts, crafts and exploring the woods together it’s been amazing to see how much the children have grown in confidence, teamwork and independence over the past few months.

We’re so proud of the kindness, curiosity and resilience the children continue to show each week, whatever the weather 🌲✨

We can’t wait to welcome everybody back after half term for more outdoor adventures and learning through nature.

Yesterday’s Nature Ed Forest School session focused on practical outdoor skills, teamwork and nature connection 🌿🌳

The children each searched for and selected their own suitable stick before learning how to carefully whittle and prepare it for roasting marshmallows over the fire. This encouraged patience, concentration and safe tool use, and the children were very proud to use something they had made themselves.🪾🔥

After this, we went on a nature walk through the woods where we spotted a herd of deer and spent time discussing different types of trees and the natural environment around us.🦌

It continues to be lovely seeing the children grow in confidence, curiosity and independence whilst enjoying outdoor learning together 💚

Today’s session at Nature Ed Forest School had a very calm and peaceful atmosphere 🌿

After several windy weeks, the forest was very still today, which seemed to have a really positive effect on the children. There was lots of kindness, teamwork and calm behaviour throughout the session.

The children created bug hotels using natural materials, working both individually and in groups. This encouraged creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills.

We also did some whittling using wood and child-safe tools. The children showed great concentration and patience, and many were very proud to take their creations home.

It continues to be lovely seeing the children grow in confidence, develop friendships and engage so positively with outdoor learning 💚
We are so grateful to our funders who make this possible

Yesterday’s session was such a lovely one 💚🌿

We spent the day exploring, creating, getting dirty and making the most of being outdoors exactly what forest school is all about.

It’s always so special watching the children grow in confidence each week, build friendships and fully immerse themselves in nature. From the big adventures to the quieter moments, yesterday was full of smiles and happy memories.

These photos capture just a little glimpse of what we get up to at Nature Ed 🌲✨
