A few quick tips:

💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
👁️ Keep some lubricating eye drops handy for on-the-go

Hello! I’m Marta, and I’m delighted to have recently joined the team at Robert Callander Eyewear in Linlithgow.
I’ve worked in optics for nearly 15 years and have been a qualified Dispensing Optician for the past 7 years. I’m passionate about helping people find the right eyewear for their individual needs and love being able to combine my knowledge and experience with a friendly, personal approach. I enjoy taking the time to understand each patient’s lifestyle, visual needs and personal style, helping them find glasses that are comfortable, practical and, most importantly, make them feel great.

Away from optics, I’m a busy mum to two wonderful little girls, so life is always scheduled ahead of time! They definitely keep me on my toes, but being their mum is my greatest joy.

I’ve always loved music, and one of my favourite things at the moment is teaching my girls to play the piano. Seeing them learn and enjoy music is something I really treasure.

I also love running and try to get out for a run whenever I can. I enjoy Pilates and swimming too — partly for the enjoyment and partly to balance out those runner’s knees! 😂

I’m really looking forward to getting to know the patients and wider community in Linlithgow and becoming part of the Robert Callander's team. I’m excited to meet you all and look forward to helping you find eyewear that’s perfect for you!

Robert Callander Eyewear has been on the High Street in Linlithgow for 25 years. Claudine joined around 21 years ago and Emily came on board almost 20 years ago. It’s testament to the working environment that we have all been very happy here for such a long time.
But it’s also good to embrace new things too! For a number of years, the team have been scouring the UK to find the perfect Dispensing Optician to further improve the service to all our clients.
And finally, after an exhaustive search, we are delighted to announce a wonderful addition to our Team at Robert Callander Eyewear.
Marta will be starting in practice in October 2026. She is a highly skilled Dispensing Optician with a wealth of experience and a flair for styling eyewear. You’ll hear from Marta direct in our next post!

Staring at a screen most of the day? Your eyes are working overtime, and it might be showing up as tired, dry, or strained eyes by the evening.

Here's how to ease the load:

- Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds
- Screens can cut your blink rate by more than half, so make a conscious effort to blink often
- Set your monitor slightly below eye level, about an arm's length from your face
- Cut down glare from overhead lights wherever you can
- Turn on night mode once the evening rolls around
