🌒 Look Up on Wednesday – A Spectacular Solar Eclipse is Coming! ☀️
On Wednesday 12 August, people across the UK will have the chance to see a deep partial solar eclipse, and here are some safe ways to view it!
🌞 Two pieces of card or paper – Make a tiny hole in one piece and let the sunlight shine through onto the second piece. You'll see a small image of the eclipsed Sun.
🥄 Use a colander – Hold it up so the sunlight passes through the holes. The shadow on the ground will be filled with dozens of tiny crescent-shaped Suns!
⚠️ Remember: Never look directly at the Sun, even during the eclipse. Using one of these indirect viewing methods is a fun and safe way for everyone to enjoy this incredible event.
