When we breathe through the mouth or take shallow, upper-chest breaths, the muscles around the jaw, neck, and shoulders often stay switched on. Over time, that extra tension can contribute to TMJ discomfort.
Try this simple reset:
✨ Place one hand on your ribs.
✨ Breathe gently through your nose.
✨ Let your ribs expand in all directions.
✨ Exhale slowly and allow your jaw to soften, with your teeth slightly apart and your tongue resting on the roof of your mouth.
Small changes in how you breathe can help reduce unnecessary muscle tension and support healthier jaw function.
Breathing isn't a cure for every case of TMJ pain, but it can be a valuable part of a broader treatment plan.
Are your ready for your journey?
