On August 18th the PPG alongside the Surgery held a very successful cake sale in aid of Breast Cancer Now, raising more than £1000.00! Thank you to everyone who participated – from cake makers to cake sellers to cake buyers – a brilliant effort all round! We are planning on holding more such events, so keep your eye on the website and page.

Unfortunately, during the month of June, 200 patients failed to attend their appointments, resulting in 33 hours of lost consultation time.
Please, if you’re unable to make your appointment, then call the surgery and let them know, so that the time can be given to someone else. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the surgery is still experiencing a lot of missed appointments, averaging at 160 a month. This translates into 2220 lost minutes that could be used for other patients. We don’t like to nag, but please, if you can’t attend your appointment, then call the surgery and let them know. We all know how frustrating it is when you’re unable to get an appointment because all the slots have been taken, so please just take a minute and call. Thank you.

First, wishing you all a very happy New Year!
As a follow up to our last post there were 153 missed appointments in December, which is an improvement on November but still represents 26 lost hours.
We do understand that everyone has busy lives and that events can overtake but, please, if you know that you’re not going to be able to make your appointment, let the surgery know so that the time can be given to someone else.
By doing this you are helping us to help others. Thank you.

The surgery is aware that patients can find it difficult to make appointments. However, during the month of November 195 patients did not attend theirs resulting in the loss of 32 hours of appointment time which could have been used by other patients. We know that circumstances can change, but please, if you have an appointment that you no longer need, ring the surgery so that your appointment time can be given to someone else. Thank you.

The surgery is now offering flu jabs to patients aged 65 or over and COVID jabs to patients aged 75 or over.
If you are eligible you will receive an invitation by text to book an appointment from NHS England, so check your texts to ensure you don't miss out.
Appointments will be available at Great Notley Surgery on Saturday 4th, 18th and 25th October between 8am and 12 noon and at Little Waltham Surgery on Saturday 11th October between 8am and 12 noon.

Patient Participation Group (PPG) Update

We’re excited to share a few important updates with you!

✅ The new booking system, Anima, is now live and running successfully.
It's making it easier for patients to get appointments or guidance with the right clinicians. The system is being closely monitored and adjusted as needed to ensure the best experience possible. As many of you know, the Surgery is heavily subscribed and short on space, but every effort is being made to provide a positive patient experience at all levels.

🎨 Little Waltham Surgery has been redecorated to create a more cheerful and welcoming space. Great Notley will be getting the same treatment soon!

🩺 The PPG has also been involved in discussions about the new NHS 10-year strategy, which aims to:
• Improve community healthcare access and reduce pressure on hospitals
• Move from analogue to digital processes
• Focus on illness prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles
It also recognises the need for better infrastructure in new housing developments to meet healthcare demands from the start.
