Have you ever been told you weren’t creative?

What stories have you told yourself over the years about your own creativity and expression?

In our Lughnasadha circle this Sunday I will be guiding you through a visualisation to meet your inner Creatrix.

Lughnasadh is named after the Celtic deity Lugh, who is often associated with skill, craftsmanship and the arts. Symbolically, it is a time of remebering that everything starts as a seed, dream or intention – we just need to nurture those seeds into gifts we can offer to ourselves and those around us.

So what better time to meet our Creatrix?

The Creatrix is quite literally ‘she who creates’.

She is more than simply an ‘artist’. She is “an energy worker first and foremost, weaving energy into form, colour, words, sound, making meaning from symbols, in order to transform herself and those her creations touch”. (taken from ‘Creatrix’ by L.H. Pearce).

In the visualisation we will be exploring her physically and spiritually and acknowledging her as a vital element of our psyche.

She may have been silenced or forgotten.

I believe we all have her within us – we just need to remember her.

It’s been such a blessing to be able to work outside at recent events.
🌿At my Medicine Woman Practitioner training, a lot of our work we did outside in the beautiful surroundings of the Earth Spirit Centre, feeling inspired and empowered by the magic of nature in so many ways.
🌿During our Transcend Retreat at the gorgeous Westwood Centre, we were surrounded by rolling hills, incredible views, trees and wildflowers. Having shared meals outside in nature was so restorative. It was like nature was a whole new element in the retreat structure!
🌿Our recent Women’s Circle took on new life when we took some of our pratices outside and into the stunning garden at the Wellness Wood at Respire Wellness Meditating, group sharing, mindfulness in nature and water rituals - the beauty of nature took everything to a new level.
I’ve also been making the most of my garden, taking the opportunity to be outdoors to eat, rest, do admin, create and whatever else I can! Usually with my little pal at my side.
Nature really is the best medicine.
What are your favourite things to do outdoors?

Yesterday I celebrated my 43rd birthday at the beach with my family.
We went swimming in the sea and my daughter took these pictures of me afterwrds.
They may just look like pictures to some people, but for me, it took a lot of guts to post
them. As with most photos of myself, my initial reaction was ugh I look horrible! But then I
took a step back, a deep breath and put things into perspective.
These were taken at a time when I was super happy – I had just been in the sea with my
three children laughing so much, feeling so free, and thinking, life doesn’t get much better
than this! So why put a negative on such a magical moment?
So many lovely moments in my life have been tainted by worrying about what I look like,
what other people think of me, seeing unflattering photos, and feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. I don’t want to feel this anymore.
I want other women to feel they can live their lives freely without being dictated by how
they look, what they weigh, what clothes size they wear, how many wrinkles they
have...and I want that for myself too. It isn’t easy, and it’s definitely a work in progress. But
to live your life unapologetically in your body, whatever it looks like, is the ultimate
freedom.
So these might not be the most ‘flattering’ photos of me. But it shows happiness. And
that’s what life is all about.

We're back next month for our Sacred Sister Circle - celebrating the sabbat of Lughnasadh (or Lammas)✨️🌞🌿
This is the first harvest celebration on the Wheel of the Year, and it is a time of giving thanks, gratitude, and reflecting on our achievements. However, we are still in the bloom of summer, so there is still time to set intentions, plant seeds and enjoy the abundance of nature!

In this circle we will be tapping into our creativity, celebrating nature and exploring the Solar Plexus and empowerment, alongside the usual connection, meditation and group sharing, creating a safe, sacred space for women to come, relax and simply be 🙏

I've been really immersing myself in reading recently.
The new training I've been undertaking has given me a real drive for knowledge and it's exciting! I have complied a list of 48 (!) books that I want to read - let's see how many I can get through before the end of the year! 😁
Inspired by my renewed love of reading, I've created the time but cute, Hygge Hub Community Library. Here you can take a preloved book, or maybe swap with one you have at home and would like to donate. There are also a few blind dates with a book packages left over from Christmas, if you like a surprise 😁
Donations are optional, but welcome - all donations will be passed on the the Rochdale Carers Hub to support their wellbeing sessions.
We donated £62 to the Rochdale Carers earlier this year, which was raised over the Christmas period, and this will go towards getting the carers a little treat at one of my sessions later this year.
If you would like to take a book, or maybe have a book to donate, please get in touch.

I've included a few pics of some of my recent and current reading - I have to have around 4-5 (or 10) different books on the go 🤣
Happy reading - and let me know in the comments what you're currently reading and any recommendations! ❤️📚
