We would like to thank Yapton Parish Council for their bursary to support the community with better mental health through counselling.

This means we are able to continue to offer low-cost or subsidised session to residents, removing a barrier to counselling for those that otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.

Thank you to everyone at Yapton for your support. ๐Ÿ’š

What is addiction and how can help?

Addiction is a compulsive need to engage in a behaviour or use a substance despite harmful consequences, often used as a way of coping with difficult feelings. Counselling can help explore the underlying causes of addiction, build healthier coping strategies, and support relapse prevention.

Last week, James Davies, Director of Operations was pleased to welcome the Littlehampton-based Social Prescriber Link Workers from Citizens Advice Arun & Chichester to Arun Counselling Centre.

Positive discussions centred on working together to support more people in the local community, strengthen partnership working, and creating better opportunities for feedback so we can continue improving the service we provide.

Strong local partnerships are essential to ensuring people receive the right support at the right time, and we're looking forward to building on these conversations over the coming months.

Thank you to those who took the time to visit us, we look forward to working together.

Join us on Saturday 11 July 2026 for our workshop for practitioners and trainee counsellors 'Dreams and the meaning behind them' hosted by Julie Slumbers, MBACP.

Learn how to work with clients to interpret and understand dreams, identifying unconscious elements of their psyche. Working with dreams can help clients work with more unconscious elements of their psyche, which might be hard to access in the usual talking through their conscious awareness. Counsellors often feel out of their depth when clients bring dreams into the room, and this workshop will equip them to work more effectively and confidently.
