Good morning.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

I’m up early to present at the London Arts Based Research Centre to discuss collage, posthumanism and post-intentional meaning making from art.

The line up of presentations looks wonderful!

So, the podcast is coming to an end! See link in bio to hear our most recent episode.

It has been six years of interviewing guests and connecting with therapists from across the globe.

I’m sad for it to be over but we’ll still he sharing content over on our platform.

It was great to connect with for one of the last interviews before we end. Susan’s our most listened to podcast guest and it was lovely to return to some of our previous discussions, as well as talk about about some new topics.

I would love to know what you think of the discussion on the comments.

I’ll still be carrying out interviews over on my YouTube account so you can follow me there.

Anyone else at the .official research conference today?

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on Instagram/Facebook.

Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend and be part of this fantastic exhibition at Mount Pleasant Library 📚 at Liverpool John Moores University. It explores data as a story and I’ve included a collage, fictional story and video in an assemblage that’s part of an ongoing post qualitative inquiry. Academic article coming soon (hopefully!).

There are some wonderful exhibits from many different faculties across . If you’re interested in research, data or what’s happening across the university go take a look! Open throughout April.

I have a new video over on my YouTube account. 📹

Dr. Fevronia Christodoulidi (Fenia) and I sat down and chatted about being in dual professions and portfolio working, including delving into the worlds of therapy, social work, and archaeology!

I always love talking to Fenia; there is always such a rich discussion. We have another chat coming out next month, which delves a little bit more into the various roles she does and talks about work-life balance.

This might be of interest to trainees or newly qualifieds as well as experienced practitioners.

In this new YouTube series, I'm exploring the PhD experience by interviewing researchers from different disciplines and backgrounds.

In this first episode, I interview Dr. Lesley Deacon, an Associate Professor of Practice Research and a distinguished fellow in various academic and research capacities. Dr. Deacon is a registered Social Worker (Social Work England) and holds roles as a Vice Chancellor's Research and Knowledge Exchange Fellow, NIHR ARC NENE Social Care Research Fellow, and Senior Fellow AdvanceHE.

Dr. Deacon focuses her work on practice research, neurodiversity, and safeguarding. She has developed a unique approach called Facilitated Practice-based Research (FPR). This model empowers practitioners to engage in and lead practice research. Through a facilitated program, groups of practitioners collaboratively design, construct, and implement research addressing relevant practice issues.

Dr Deacon emphasises creating neuro-inclusive environments that are accessible and embrace diversity, blending her personal insights with academic research to foster inclusive and impactful practices.

Really proud of Krystal Scott who today passed her PhD Viva.

Congratulations Dr Scott. 🥳 🍾

It has been a pleasure to be part of the supervision team supporting Krystal, alongside Kathleen Vandenberge, Jeff Harrison and Lesley Dougan.

Krystal’s thesis entitled Therapist Experiences of Person-Centred Therapeutic Work with Primary-Aged Children in School-Based Counselling: Perceptions of Congruence, Unconditional Positive Regard and Empathy passed without amendments. I’m looking forward to seeing some of her work published very soon.
