📢 New Online Appointment & Query System – Launching 2nd March 2026

Mather Avenue Surgery will be using a new online system for appointment requests and enquiries called Blinx PACO GP. This will replace our current online consultation system, PATCHS.

This change is part of wider NHS improvements and is designed to make it easier and quicker for patients to access the right care at our practice.

🖥️ What is Blinx PACO GP?

Blinx PACO GP is our new Digital Front Door, allowing patients to:
• Request appointments online
• Submit administrative queries
• Request prescriptions and fit notes
• Be guided to the most appropriate service for their needs
• Complete health forms before a consultation
• Use the system in multiple languages

Some appointments that do not require clinical triage can be booked directly online, without needing to call the surgery.

📅 What do I need to do?

To request medical help, request an appointment or submit a query, please click the “Submit Online Request” button on our website.

All administrative and prescription queries should be submitted via Blinx PACO GP where possible.

📱 Prescriptions

Patients can continue to order repeat prescriptions via the NHS App, which remains the most efficient way to do so.

☎️ What if I can’t use online services?

We understand that not everyone is digitally confident. Patients can still contact the practice by phone, and our team will be happy to help submit an online request on your behalf if needed.

We kindly ask that patients who are able to use digital services do so, as this helps keep phone lines free for those who cannot use online systems.

There have been some reports in the media about Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) becoming available via the NHS.

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is NOT currently available via the NHS in Liverpool. Its likely to become available via specialist weight loss clinics but we cannot confirm when this will be.

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) is not available to everyone right away. It will be rolled out gradually across England, starting with people who have the most urgent clinical needs. Eligibility is based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and certain health conditions.

To be eligible, you must have FOUR or more of the following health conditions. All conditions must be confirmed by a healthcare professional;
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Heart disease caused by narrowed or blocked arteries (atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease)
- Obstructive sleep apnoea
- Abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia)

We know that managing weight can be incredibly challenging, and many people are asking about Mounjaro (tirzepatide) after hearing about how effective it can be in helping with weight loss.

There is an international IT issue you may have seen on the news. This is affecting practices using EMIS, the patient management software used by all Liverpool practices. We are seeing people booked in but have no access to results, letters etc. Please bear with us while we wait for the boffins to sort the Internet.
