When a loved one passes away, it can feel overwhelming knowing what to do next. One of the key steps is letting the right people and organisations know.

This may include:
– The GP or hospital
– Family and close friends
– Employers and schools
– Banks, insurance companies and utility providers
– Government departments (such as HMRC and DWP)

Using the government’s Tell Us Once service can make this process easier by notifying multiple departments in one go >> https://hubs.ly/Q04hKNnt0

If you’re unsure where to start, we’re here to guide and support you every step of the way. 🤍

Losing someone you love is never easy, and in today’s digital world, their online presence can become part of the grieving process too. Creating a digital legacy plan is one way to ensure their wishes are respected and their memory preserved.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Make a List of Accounts – Include everything from email and social media to streaming services and online banking.

2. Appoint a Digital Executor – Choose someone you trust to manage and carry out your wishes.

3. Understand the Platforms – Review the terms and privacy policies of each account or service.

4. State Your Wishes – Decide whether accounts should be deleted, memorialised, or archived.

5. Keep the Plan Safe – Store your digital legacy plan securely, but make sure it's accessible.

6. Share Access – Provide clear instructions and login details to your chosen executor.

7. Use Built-In Tools – Platforms like Facebook and Google offer features for legacy management.

8. Explore Support Services – Professional services are available to help manage digital legacies with care.

9. Review and Update Regularly – As your digital life changes, your plan should too.

10. Talk About It – Let your loved ones know your intentions, so there’s no confusion later.

Handling a digital legacy is about more than just data, it’s about memory, respect, and peace of mind. Make sure you're aware of the legal and ethical responsibilities that apply where you live.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week and the sun has been shining, but sunny weather doesn’t always mean you feel okay, and that’s completely valid.

Grief, stress, anxiety and overwhelm don’t disappear just because the weather is brighter. Some days can still feel heavy, and it’s important to remember you don’t have to pretend otherwise.

Be gentle with yourself. Self-care doesn’t have to be big gestures, sometimes it’s taking a quiet moment, getting some fresh air, reaching out to someone you trust, or simply allowing yourself to feel what you feel.

If you’re struggling, support is there. The Samaritans are available 24/7 for anyone who needs someone to listen 📞 116 123

You matter. Always. 💚

This week marks , a national campaign led by Hospice UK that encourages open, honest conversations around death, dying, and grief.

The 2026 theme, ‘Let's talk about death and dying’ aims to break down the stigma and taboo of talking about death and dying.

27% of people find it hard to talk about death with family or friends, and 30% bottle their feelings up. If we don’t talk about death and dying and bereavement, it can be harder to cope when we experience it. Death, dying and bereavement affect us all. This Dying Matters Awareness Week let's focus on the importance of conversations about death and dying. Because Talking about Dying Matters.

🖤 Today is International Bereaved Mother's Day 🖤

A day to honour and remember all mother's who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child - whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, infancy, or later in life.

Grief has no timeline, and this day is a reminder that every mother’s pain, love, and memories matter. You are not alone, and your child is never forgotten.

If you’re supporting someone through loss today, a small act of kindness or a listening ear can mean the world.

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on how we can remember loved ones in ways that are both meaningful and mindful of the world around us 🌿

If you’re looking for a thoughtful tribute, here are some gentle, eco-conscious ideas that honour both memory and nature:

🌳 Plant a tree
Create a lasting, living tribute that grows over time — a place to visit, reflect, and remember.

🫧 Choose bubbles over balloons
A beautiful, symbolic gesture that’s kinder to the environment while still creating a special moment.

🌸 Scatter petals
Let nature carry your tribute — a simple and peaceful way to say goodbye in a meaningful location.

🌼 Sow wildflower seeds
Bring life, colour, and biodiversity to a space while creating a lasting natural memorial.

🪨 Leave a pebble message
Write a memory or message on a stone and leave it somewhere meaningful — a quiet, personal tribute.

Even the smallest acts can leave a lasting impact. This Earth Day, we’re reminded that remembrance and care for the planet can go hand in hand. 💚

You may have seen recent coverage in the news about a funeral director in Hull who has pleaded guilty to serious offences, including failing to ensure proper burials and misleading families about the ashes they received. The case has understandably caused significant distress and concern for many people.

Stories like this are deeply troubling and do not reflect the standards that families should expect from our profession.

In light of recent events, our practices, procedures, and facilities have been subject to inspection involving representatives from the Ministry of Justice.

We want to reassure our clients and community that we are committed to the highest levels of care, dignity, and professionalism at all times. Every person entrusted to us is treated with respect, and every family is supported with compassion.

At a time when families need reassurance the most, we remain dedicated to doing things properly.
