This month is Urology Awareness Month!

Symptoms you shouldn’t ignore include:
• Blood in your urine, even if it only happens once
• Changes in how often you need to pass urine
• Difficulty starting or stopping when urinating
• A weak or interrupted urine stream
• Pain or burning when passing urine
• New or persistent pain in your lower abdomen, back or sides
• Changes in your testicles, such as a lump, swelling or persistent discomfort

Some urinary symptoms are caused by common and treatable conditions, but occasionally they can be a sign of something more serious. Getting symptoms checked early can make a real difference.

If you notice a new or persistent change, please fill in a blinx form via our website

We would like to congratulate our Care Navigator, Sophie, on being awarded staff of the month for August!
You may have met Sophie on the front desk, or she may have helped you with any queries over the phone. She was awarded this due to her ongoing commitment to patient care and support, and her willingness to develop her skillset.
Well Done Sophie! 🎉

You may have recently received an invitation from us for your annual long term condition review. But what actually happens when you come in?

Your annual review is a chance for us to check how you’re doing, make sure your condition is well managed and give you an opportunity to ask any questions or discuss any concerns.

Depending on the condition you’re being reviewed for, your appointments may include:

🩺 Checking your blood pressure, weight or other routine measurements
🩸 Blood tests
💊 Reviewing your medications and making sure they’re still right for you
💬 Talking about any symptoms, concerns or changes in your health
📋 Checking that your care and monitoring are up to date
❤️ Offering advice and support to help you stay as healthy as possible

You may be asked to have blood tests before your review appointment, so please check the information in your invitation carefully.
If you've received an invitation, please don't ignore it, as attending your review helps us monitor your health and can pick up any changes early.

If you're unsure what your invitation means or what you need to do, please contact the surgery and we'll be happy to help.

Thank you for helping us look after your health🌱
